Nyassa Belgian Chocolate Scrub

February 5, 2013 By: Pratibha22 Comments

The Jan Vellvette Box

The Jan Vellvette Box

I’ve been wanting to use products from Nyassa, but I never really had the time to go to their store or order something online. And as luck would have it, I received the Belgian Sugar Scrub in my January Vellvette box. This is the second box of my three month subscription. I quite like body scrubs and I was more than willing it to give this a try. I got a  sample size and this body scrub lasted barely two washes.

I thought the sugar granules were quite large for the scrub and it took sometime to dissolve. I did not want to risk indulging in a bit of massage like I usually do with a body scrub, because I thought it may just graze the skin. It did not have a very chocolatey fragrance, something that I quite expected considering it was a Belgian Chocolate scrub. But I need to add here that it did leave my skin moisturized post the wash and I did not need to use my usual body butter. So that is a plus point.

I have my own concoction of tried and tested sugar and salt scrubs which I make whenever I require them. And quite honestly my home made cocoa sugar scrub is loads better than this one!

Price and Shelf life

This has a shelf life of 6 months and the full size product is priced at Rs. 950 for a 200 gm tin.

Where can I buy this?

From the online Vellvette store . I have not seen this product in any other e-retail store as yet.  For some strange reason, it does show listed in sites like pepperfry, snapdeal etc, but when you click on the link you get the message that it has either been sold out or no longer available.

Will I recommend this?

Nope! I think it really is a waste of money and well I quite did not like it. There are rave reviews of this scrub making the rounds and well, if you have the money to splurge and a dry skin, I would say, go ahead and give it a try. Maybe, you won’t be disappointed.

How to use

Wet your skin, scoop out a generous amount of the scrub and massage gently to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin.

It’s sold out? Maybe they stopped making it. That would be wise.

You haven’t used it? I read about this in one of your articles actually, so asked. But if it does contain sls then it’ll be of no use to me. Thank you for informing! 🙂

You must have seen the mention to a Samaya Tea Tree Cleanser/Shampoo that I got in one of the Enchantess Bags and got confused with the Nyassa one. I had posted pics of the Velvette and Enchantess bag together 🙂 MAybe it was one of them.
