A refreshing bath at the start of the day is something that I never miss. Well, most of us do love the same, but have you ever checked the soap that use? If you still use those chemical laden options, its time to say bye to them and option for natural, chemical free and organic handmade soaps. The good news is that we have quite a few best organic handmade soaps in India!

Best organic handmade soaps in India

Bookmark this post or just click on the links to make your purchases, trust me, you won’t regret it! These nourishing and moisturizing soaps are chemical free and are gentle on the skin. Some of these soaps are perfect for kids too, I have mentioned the same against the soaps that can be used for kids. These natural soaps are mild, moisturizing, and have been created with a blend of essential oils and other toxin free natural ingredients. So if you are looking for the best organic handmade soaps in India, your search has just ended! Here is my list of must – have natural soaps available in India. The brands have been listed in a random order.

  1. SkinSense Natural Luxury

This is a brand I discovered late last year. I have used their body butter, a cleansing mask and these soaps. Rashmi, the founder of the brand takes out time to respond to your queries and lets you know which of the products can suit you. I ordered for the Narangi Madhu and the Agaraya Mritikayi. Narangi Madhu has a faint citrusy fragrance that makes it actually a more summer kind of a soap. Agaraya Mritikayi is a more suitable for those with an oily skin. Packed with healing glycerin, these soaps lather up really well and keep your skin soft and nourished. The best way to use these soaps is to wet the soap and rub to work up a lather and apply the lather to cleanse your skin gently.

Priced from INR 350 and upwards, their bath soaps are ideal for men and women.

Where to buy: On their website.

  1. Cape of Good Soap

Cape of Good Soap, as the name suggests is your one-stop shop for an array of soaps that you’ll love to have and use. Their claim – “Our soaps are enriched with products that are organic & so pure that they can be used safely on your skin every single time you use it. They just don’t do the job of cleansing but also work as a healthy potion while providing a nourishing treat. Notice a visible difference in your skin with everyday use.”

Each soap bar is carefully handcrafted with ingredients ranging from natural farm produce to herbs handpicked from across the world. Their exotic range of soaps packed in a tin is going to be a treat for your skin. I am currently using the Breakfast For Skin soap that helps me kick-start my day with the freshness I need. Packed with the goodness of honey and oats, this one exfoliates the skin very gently and keeps hydrated for at least 8 hours. If you have dry skin, you may need to follow up with the moisturiser or pure almond oil.

Priced from INR 240 and upwards, their bath soaps are ideal for men and women.

Where to buy: On their FB page.

  1. Wild Earth by Shabia Walia

Even before I could check these soaps, by twin boys had selected one each for themselves. A quick mail exchange with the founder of Wild Earth assured me that these soaps were safe to use by kids. Wild Earth was born out of the idea to create products that were in sync with nature; to retain its goodness in the purest forms. Their products are free from sulphates & parabens and packed with only what’s good for you and your skin. Handcrafted, natural and eco friendly, they believe in complete transparency and you will find all the ingredients listed on the website and / or the product. Wild Earth also believes in giving back to society. so every bar of soap you buy contributes in spreading smiles in the lives of the underprivileged. Isn’t that a wonderful thing to do?

Priced from INR 175 and upwards, their bath soaps are ideal for men, women and children.

Where to buy: Check Amazon India and their website too for the complete list of products. The website lists all the products in comparison to Amazon.

  1. Gia Bath and Body Care

Her body butter is a huge huge hit at my home! A brief interaction with Gayatri also introduced me to her simply divine collection of soaps. Packed in a re-useable drawstring bag, these soaps are elixir for your skin.  The mocha creme and polish bar smells good enough to just melt and add to your cup of coffee. If I were ever running out of coffee, one sniff of this would be good enough for me to kick-start my day! Gayatri believes in 100% disclosure of the ingredients she uses in her products, so you will know what is it that you are slathering on your skin. And trust me whatever you choose, your skin will thank you for it.

Priced from INR 380 and upwards, their bath soaps are ideal for men, women and children.

Where to buy: Check the website for all the products.

  1. Fuschia

Fuschia has been in the market for a while and it is present in almost every beauty box subscription. Fast gaining popularity for its range of products that include some fabulous scrubs, masks and more, they also have a great range handmade soaps that are made with 100% natural ingredients. The activated charcoal soap is one of the favourites in my home. The vegetable glycerin in the soaps makes it a rich moisturising soap that keeps your skin nourished and hydrated for a long time. Check the fruity range of the soaps as well that the kids would love to use!

Priced from INR 250 and upwards, their bath soaps are ideal for men, women and children.

Where to buy: Check Amazon India for the complete list of products.

  1. Mountain Herbs

This is a brand that does not promote itself as yet actively. Their range of soaps are packed with the goodness of 20 different herbs such as aloe vera, rose, neem, turmeric, tulsi, gooseberries, hibiscus,  castor oil, rice bran oil and coconut oil. All the materials used in their products are quality approved, hand-picked, and absolutely natural. They believe in complete ingredient disclosure policy and you will see all the ingredients listed against the products. Apart from being 100% safe and toxin free, these soaps are also gentle enough to be used by children. Very low on fragrance, each of their soaps is packed with its own set advantages and benefits combining to result in a smoother, better moisturized and for more beautiful glowing skin.

Priced INR 275 onwards for a combination of 4 soaps.

Where to buy: Check Amazon India for their complete listing of products. You can also check their wesbite for more products.

  1. Alanna

organic soaps india

Back in 2015, when Alanna was founded, they had one mission in mind – create a a blend of beautiful recipes with exquisite ingredients from Mother Nature that would give your skin lots of love and nourishment. And that is what you see in their range of handmade and handcrafted  products – lots of love! Why do I stress on natural and handmade soaps? Because they are good for your skin, and choosing chemical-free products can be the best investment you can have for your skin. Most of the soaps are suitable for men and women. I only wish that they listed all the ingredients on the website too so that people could make an informed choice about what they were buying.

Priced from INR 175 and upwards, their bath soaps are ideal for men and women.

Where to buy: Check Amazon India for their complete listing of products.

  1. Juicy Chemistry

handmade soap india

Juicy Chemistry has a range of soaps suitable for specific skin types. With a shelf life of 6 months, their range of soaps are packed with loads of nourishing butters, natural cold pressed oils and gentle clays. As I said, they do have a range of soaps for specific skin issues as well. Whether it is scarred skin or normal skin, they have something created just for you. Juicy Chemistry is a 100% certified organic brand that also sources ingredients that are ONLY certified natural and organic. This ensures that you are using only chemical free products. Most of the soaps are made with certain fresh fruits, essential oils, natural exfoliants, anti-oxidant teas and vegetable juices that aim at healing specific skin issues.

Priced from INR 500 and upwards, you’ll need to check the range of soaps. They do have a separate soap just for kids.

Where can you buy? Check Amazon for the complete range of products.

  1. Earthy Sapo

“Real soaps are not manufactured, they are crafted.”, was the first thing that caught my eye when I was browsing their website. First things first, I know this is a post on natural handmade soaps, but I have to slip in a line about the utterly fabulous shikakai and multani shampoo bar. It is pure love for your tresses! Now, back to their soaps.

Sheetal, the founder of Earthy Sapo has a range of soaps for every skin type and for everyone! Babies, kids, sensitive skin, normal, oily; you name it and she has it. All the soaps have a shelf life of a year, but since there are no preservatives added, it would be nice if you use them right away instead of stashing them. Sheetal lists each and every ingredient used in the product along with specific directions if any. Her scrubs and hair products are in the must-use list already.

Priced from INR 145 onward, not only is this value for money, but you have a wide range to choose from for your entire family!

Where can you buy? Check Amazon India for the complete range of products.

  1. Quinta Essentia Organics

organic soaps in india

See that cute cupcake? Yes, I wish I could bite into that, but alas, it is a soap! From these exotic cupcakes to a range of Ayurvedic handmade soaps made with 100% organic coconut oil, their soaps are a blend of nourishing oils, butters and essential oils. I love to lather the soap and apply on the skin rather than apply the soap on the skin.  Made with natural ingredients and therapeutic grade essential oils, these soaps are going to be a luxurious pampering for your skin.

Priced from INR 99 for the bar soaps and INR 500 and upwards for the cupcake soaps, they are ideal for men & women.

Where to buy: Their products are available on Amazon India and you can look at the complete range on their website also.

  1. Ilana Organics

organic handmade soaps in India

Chanced upon this one at the Pune Farmer’s Market that was held recently. A small stall displaying the goodies that includes scrubs, body butters, serums and soaps. All the products are 100% biodegradable and eco friendly and the owner of the brand Nikita mentions that the reason she worked on the entire range of these products was to reduce the demand for non-green products and services. I chose the charcoal and tea-tree soap that seems perfect for the approaching summer.

Priced from INR 400 and upwards, their bath soaps are ideal for men & women.

Where to buy: Check their online store.

  1. Raw Rituals

handmade soaps in india

I met Loveena, the founder of Raw Rituals at the Pune Farmers Market recently. Inspired by the daily self-care rituals, their products are simple, yet effective on the skin. I chose to buy a soap apart from a daily use ubtan. Free from chemicals and nasties, all the products are PETA certified. Their products are handcrafted in extremely small batches to ensure high levels of quality and consistency.  Made with pure coconut & palm oil, sucrose, vegetable glycerin, therapeutic grade essential oils and Vitamin E.

Priced from INR 175 and upwards, their bath soaps are ideal for men, women and children.

Where to buy: Check the website for all the products for the complete list of products.

Comprehensive, isn’t it? This is my list of best organic handmade soaps in India! You know what? There are more brands that I have actually not mentioned in this post. Rajini,
Yes! Took me almost a month to get in touch with the brands and learn about them. Thank you so much for taking out time to read it and leave a comment as well. As someone who believes in eco-living, I work towards acquainting people with products that are good for them and their skin. I do hope that it reaches to more people and helps them choose better options. If you do know of brands with the same philosophy and who are the right fit on being organic and natural, please do drop me a mail and I would love to associate with them. I can be reached at [email protected].

I have tried many organic soaps and shampoos, of which Mountain Herbs is my favourite,l have been using this for the past one year, Truly they are very low in fragrance but the fragrance is long lasting, and are very gentle on skin. My children are also using them. My daughter who has a very sensitive skin type, I found this very much suitable for her skin type

    Dear Pratibha
You have done a wonderful job in researching the organic products and telling the goodness to others.

I am using Mountain Herbs since 2014 for my family. Its so refreshing and safe on skins.
My both children have sensitive skins. I started using the soap for my daughter from 3 years old. Before I used soap free lotion for bath because of her dry skin until I found the mountain herbs soap. For my second child I started using the soap from two months of age.

I honestly recommend Mountain herbs soap for anyone who are really looking for organic products for their skin. Perfect for the whole family with different skin types.
