Hair Pack by Omved {Product Review}

April 27, 2012 By: Pratibha8 Comments

Natural Hair Care, Omved, Omved Hair PackIt seems like eternity since I reviewed anything from Omved! So after a pretty long gap, here is yet another review on one of my favourite brands, Omved. On my last visit at their store I picked up the Hair Pack. I have used quite a few products of Omved, but never ventured into the hair care range.

Omved Hair Pack

Now, the first time I used it I did not follow it up with a shampoo and conditioner. Since it was hair nourishing pack, I thought it may not be right to follow it up with a shampoo.  Post washing (and not using  a shampoo) I smelt like I had dunked my hair into neem and methi paste. Yes, this pack has a strong fragrance. I had to step back for another shower and hair wash.

I realized that something was amiss and I checked with Omved. I was wrong, the hairpack has to be followed by a shampoo and a conditioner. Post that incident, I started using a shampoo and conditioner with it. I use my regular shampoo and conditioner, which is Barnängen aloe vera yogurt shampoo + conditioner. My guess is that shampoos and conditioners from Omved would be a better bet! My next buy from Omved would be a shampoo and conditioner that I can use post the hair pack.

I have short hair, but very thick hair, and I used roughly about a tablespoon of the pack and made it into a runny paste by mixing water in it.  And I applied it on the hair like I would apply oil. I let it stay for 15 – 20 minutes and washed it off in the shower.  Don’t make the paste so runny that it would drip.

Price and Shelf life

It is priced at Rs. 150 for a 50 gm pouch. It comes with a shelf life of 2 years. Once you open the pack, ensure that you keep it in the refrigerator.

Hair Pack by Omved, Omved Hair Pack review, omved product reviews, omved productsWhere can I buy this?: You can buy this product at the Omved online store, Urban Touch and Natural Mantra. You can also buy them at their stores in Mumbai and Pune.

Would I recommend this? : Yes.My hair feels visibly lighter and healthier post the use of this product. If you have a dry and itchy scalp or even dandruff, you must give this a try. I have an itchy scalp during winters and this hair pack reduced the itchiness to a great deal. But do not forget to follow up the wash with a shampoo and conditioner.

      Preeti,

      My husband gets these for me from Sweden. I am not sure if you get these in India. I am not sure if is is SLES free because the description is in German! But this is what the company description is

      “Barnängen is the Swedish body and hair care expert with more than 100 years of experience, a brand you have known since childhood.

      Today, Barnängen offers a range of mild and caring products, with natural ingredients and a contemporary Swedish design, that cares for your skin and hair and makes you feel naturally beautiful and confident.”

    Is there any natural hair dye product available ? Iam using hair colour which i heard is full of chemicals and may affect the scalp. I would like to try some natural product free from harmful chemicals for my grey hair.
