Shampoo bars! You either love them, hate them or wait till your hair gets used to them! Shampoo bars are economical and eco-friendly. Since you can use it to the last bit, there is no wastage. Most of the shampoo bars come in recycled packaging and they don’t need any containers. That helps to NOT cause a landfill. And if you want to know why I recommend shampoo bars, read my last post.
In this post I am listing some of the best shampoo bars in India. As with most compilation posts, I do plan to update this as and when I discover products. I have not used a few of the shampoo bars that have been mentioned in the post.
10 Best Shampoo Bars in India
Shampoo bars is not just another trend that is doing the rounds, it has been there and its now that people are opting for it. A few beauty brands are certainly environmentally -friendly and with the need to do away with plastic and glass, shampoo bars were a logical step.
When you make that shift from the liquid shampoo to the solid shampoo, it takes some time to get used to the changes, but the end result is the same; squeaky clean hair! Here is my list of some of the best shampoo bars in India.
Satliva
This is one of the shampoo bars that I feel is complete value for money. It lasts long! Really long. It has a very light fragrance and I love the volume it gives to my hair. Initially it made my hair a bit dry, but consistent usage has made it more manageable. I oil my hair at least 4 times a week and this shampoo bar gets rid of the oil in one wash. Leaves your scalp squeaky clean too. It works up a rich lather that also acts like a conditioner for my hair type. I let the lather stay for 2 minutes before I wash off my hair. Leaves a slightly tamer mane! Priced at INR 379, you can buy this from Amazon India. Click here to buy.
Earthy Sapo Shampoo Bars
Sheetal, the owner of Earthy Sapo, is one patient person! She’ll speak to you at length about your hair ans skin issues and recommend products to you accordingly. I have been using the utterly fabulous shikakai and multani shampoo bar. It is pure love for your tresses! Yes! Since my scalp tends to get a tad oily, I was recommended that shampoo for my hair. She makes all the products and each of them is 100% chemical free. Priced at INR 185 each, Earthy Sapo shampoo bars come in two variants. For dry hair and oily hair. Both these variants can bought on Amazon India.
Burst of Happyness
This nourishing shampoo bar has been infused with 5 Ayurvedic herbs (Neem, Methi, Amla, Wheatgrass and Bhringraj) and Aloe Vera. . This shampoo bar also has oodles of raw kokam butter and a blend of hair-loving essential oils like eucalyptus and lavender to tackle various scalp and hair problems and to keep it healthy! Perfect for troubled scalp and hair. Priced at INR 260, you can buy this from their website. Click here to buy.

Gia Bath and Body Hibiscus Shampoo Bar
I have used her range of hair oil, body butters (drool worthy) and soaps, but have never got around using the shampoo bar. On my wish list, of course! This shampoo bar is packed with Hibiscus and avarampoo powder. Both these ingredients help to nourish your hair from the roots. Avarampoo powder in fact also acts like a conditioner in this shampoo bar. Priced at INR 250, you can buy this from their website. Click here to buy.
Aroma Essentials Onion Shampoo Bar
All products of Aroma Essentials are freshly handmade in small batches using the finest natural ingredients. That is why you may have to actually wait because the products are waiting to be made. The products are supposed be 1900% chemical free, with no additions of petroleum, mineral oils, colours, SLS fragrances. The fragrance are those of natural ingredients. A quick search will show that this product has some rave reviews. I have not used this product, so I cannot vouch for it. Connect with them via their Facebook Page to know more about their products.
Juicy Chemistry Shampoo Bars
One of the fastest selling and customer favourite product. You’ll often find their range of shampoo bars out of stock because they sell like hot cakes! Their range of hand-crafted soaps are made using traditional cold process methods and contain a high percentage of nutrient-rich oils, organic botanicals, therapeutic essential oils and ultra-moisturizing butters. Mild natural ingredients cleanse your scalp and hair without stripping away essential moisture. The nourishing oils and butters leave hair feeling soft, shiny, and manageable. Organic botanicals and essential oils impart a gorgeous fragrance to your locks. Priced at INR 400 and above, you can check the entire range of shampoo bars on their website.
Soapworks Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo Bars with Amla & Neem
Soapworks has three variants in the shampoo bars and you can choose one depending on your hair type. A quick google search didn’t yield many results. Their website has some positive reviews though. Another shampoo bar that I have not tried, so I cannot vouch for it. A quick look at the products mentions that these are 100% chemical free. That is the reason this one is mentioned in this post on best shampoo bars in India. Priced at INR 175 onwards, you can buy this from Amazon India. Click here to buy.

Shampoo bars from Soap Square
Soap Square believes in zero wastage and that’s one of the reasons they launched their shampoo bars. They have 4 variants which I’ll talk about in the post. The best way to use a shampoo your hair using a shampoo bar is to wet your hair in the shower and work up a lather by rubbing the soap between your palms and applying this lather on your hair. Massage your scalp and work up the lather from the roots to the tips and wash off with tepid water. If you have oiled your hair, you may need to shampoo your hair at least twice to get out the built up residue in your hair and scalp.
Soulflower Shampoo Bar, Rosemary Lavender and Jojoba
Soulflower says their shampoo bars are a safe for your hair. All thier soaps and shampoo bars are 100 percent pure, natural, vegan, handmade and cold processed. Their products are free from SLS, chemicals, synthetic colour or fragrance. Most of the shampoo bars are safe to use all around the year. I find most of their soaps pretty bulky. If you do end up buying this, ensure that you cut it in 2-3 pieces and use. Priced at INR 375 and above, you can buy this from Amazon India. Click here to buy.
Vedic Saga Shampoo Bars
Affordable and value for money too. I picked up a soap and shampoo bars and they came packed in these cotton drawstring bags that are reusable. The only issue, none of the products are labelled so I had no clue which one is the soap and which one is the shampoo bar! I have started using their soap and its really very mild on the skin and I am hoping that the shampoo bar is gentle too! Priced at INR 95 onwards for a single shampoo bar, they also have shampoo and soap packs that you can explore on Amazon India. Click here to buy.

Thanks a lot for this wonderful compilation of Shampoo bars. But a definite No No from me regarding Soap works shampoo bars. I have used a another variant of theirs which was a nightmare. Dried my hair and scalp like anything and thereby causing severe hair fall. I highly do not recommend their products. Soaps also I have used. So so.

I read up on them and included them based on the reviews I read. I haven’t used them. Possible that it didn’t suit your hair type? But thanks for letting us know! Do let me know if you try any of these variants I have mentioned.

I had a similar issue with the shampoo bar and the deo stick.. it was a crap product compared to what they advertise on the site. When I sent email they did not repond after the complaint at all…It still lies in my shelf sine I brought it as a gift for my husband and we both hated the smell of the deo stick
