Curl those lashes…with a spoon

What? A spoon? I don’t use a mascara to curl those lashes, so one trick I learnt to add volume to the lashes was to warm the back of a spoon with a hair dryer ( don’t fret if you don’t own one of these! I don’t too!) or warm it on the burner for a few second.  It should not be too hot. Hold the back of the spoon under the lashes and apply pressure on the lash line with your thumb. Hold it in the same position for a few seconds and repeat it again. Do this at least twice to get the curls.

Cling film…to get a face lift

If you have been using cling film to wrap food till now, make more use of it! Did you know that you can use it to give an instant face lift? Take a generous amount of face oil or your favourite moisturizer and apply on the face and massage it for a few minutes. Apply another layer of the oil or moisturizer and wrap your face in cling film. Leave the nose and mouth areas open to breathe freely. The wrap leads to heat from the body and the pores open and the cream gets absorbed. This gives an instant face life making your skin feel soft and supple.

File the nails…with a matchbox

Can’t find your nail file and that broken nail is irritating you? No sweat, rub your nails against the patch where you light the match till your nail is filed. The rough strip of the match box acts like a natural file and if you are not at home, just head to a store and buy a match box. You have filed nails instantly!

Tooth brushes…to groom the brows and lots more!

Till now the only use of a toothbrush was to clean your teeth, right? Did you know that you can use it as a multi purpose beauty tool?  Here is a list of all that you can do with a toothbrush:

• Use it to shape the brows. Gently run the bristles along the brow line to give it a neat look.
• Apply a generous amount of lipbalm to the lips and use a soft toothbrush to gently massage the lips in a circular motion. Wash off with warm water and you’ll have softer lips.
• Dip it in a bowl of lemon juice and massage the knees and elbows to get rid of the tough tans.
• Dab it in a jar of hair gel and run it gently over the stray strands of hair that you would want to set.
