I got a bottle of Aroma Magic Peppermint EO bottle in the first Enchantess Bag, probably the one thing I am still using and haven’t chucked away. I used this in the diffuser once, but the fragrance did not last for a very long time. So I just let it lie on my bookshelf till I could find a better use for it. I googled some info on the uses of peppermint oil and was amazed at all that I could do while using peppermint essential oil. Here is my list of some tips I’ve used and some I am yet to try.
Using Peppermint Essential oil
Mix this with a home made scrub
I make my own scrubs and for me there is nothing as refreshing as a minty fragrances. It peps me up totally. Using peppermint essential oil in my scrubs gives it the minty fragrance and also is very invigorating. I add a few drops of the oil to any of hand and foot scrubs I make. One of my most simple DIY scrub is a mix of brown sugar, olive oil, juice of half a lime, half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder and using two drops of peppermint essential oil. You have a minty scrub ready to use. You can also replace the brown sugar with fine white sugar.
Helps me with my migraines
Have a headache? Mix a drop of the peppermint EO with some olive oil or almond oil and dab on your forehead and feel the difference in a few minutes. I find this very relaxing and much better on my skin in comparison to the balms that can be quite stinging on the skin.
A head massage
Mix two to three drops of the peppermint EO with your regular hair oil and give yourself a head massage. It cools you instantly and it leaves behind a mild minty fragrance which I quite like.
Use it as a decongestant
This works specially for my kids. When they have a blocked nose, I put one drop of the EO on theor pillow or on the tees so that they can breathe easy. I checked with their doctor and also ensured that they were not allergic to it before I tried it on them. I also use the Sushwasa spray from Omved that works wonders when they have a blocked nose or a cough. You just need to spray it around the room and sheets to be engulfed in the minty fragrance that clears blocked passages.
De-stress
Add two drops of peppermint oil to a cold towel and place on eyes. I find this as one of the easiest ways to relax and unwind after a particularly tiring day that I may have had!
Tips I have not tried
Controls itching and rashes
It has been mentioned that one drop of peppermint EO can be mixed with half a teaspoon of coconut oil and can be applied to rashes and bruises ( not open wounds) to control the itching and pain.
Combats nausea
Massage a few drops on your tummy or sprkinle a few drops into a hand towel and sniff to combat motion sickness, nausea or morning sickness.
Shampoo
If you have dandruff, then add a few drops of peppermint essential oil to your regular shampoo and use. Shampoo your hair and leave it on for at least two minutes before you wash it off.
Peppermint and green tea rinse
Make a clarifying rinse by mixing a cup of green tea and using peppermint essential oil (just 2 drops) and a teaspoon of white vinegar. Dampen your hair and pour this rinse over it and leave on for five minutes. Follow it up with a shampoo and conditioner.

Nayana, there could be loads of causes that can be causing the hairfall. I suggest that you meet a doctor first to analyze the cause of the hair-fall and then take treatment. During my pregnancy and post delivery no matter what I did, the hair fall was something that would make me weep. It stopped after 2 years. There is an oil from Omved for hairfall, maybe you can try using that. http://omvedstore.in/products/1692-pushtikar-hair-oil.aspx
