Useful home remedies for brittle nails
A manicure is the best remedy to pamper your hands, but when you do not have the time and luxury to do, you resort to home remedies for brittle nails
Lemon Juice and Olive Oil Soak
Lemon and olive oil are widely used in hand care. While lemon juice helps to remove the tan, the olive oil gently moisturizes the skin. A mixture of lemon juice and olive oil can penetrate the nail cuticles in order to repair and strengthen the nails. Since lemon juice acts as a bleach, it can help to remove the yellowish stains and discoloration from the nails. Apply this mix on your fingers with a cotton ball and let it stay for 15 minutes before you wash it off with warm water. To make this mix use 1 table spoon of olive oil and the juice of one lemon. Whisk it well with a fork.
ACV Soak
Take about 4 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar and soak your fingers in it for 5 minutes. Wash off with cold water and now add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, a spoon of Himalayan rock salt ( if you do not have rock salt, use sugar instead), grate some cinnamon and add 2 drops of lavender oil. Mix this well and massage your hands gently with the scrub. The warming cinnamon boosts the circulation of blood, while the olive oil nourishes your hands and the lavender oil soothes the skin.
Sea Salt /Sugar Soak
If you have no sea salt, use some some sugar instead! What better way to strengthen weak and brittle toenails and finger nails that with a soothing a relaxing soak made of sea salt and warm water? Take a fistful himayan salt (if you can get your hands on Mamaearth’s relaxing Epsom Salt or Omved’s Tired Foot Soak, you are in for a bonus!) Anyway, take a fistfful salt or brown sugar and to a bucket as hot as you can take. Soak your feet and hands in it. Add a few drops of peppermint essesntial oil, tea-tree essential oil and lavender essential oil. Peppermint and tea-tree oils will help to detox and flush out the toxins. Lavender calms and soothes the skin. While your feet and hands are soaked, rub your feet and hands against the salt or sugar to exfoliate dead skin.
Coconut Oil + Castor Oil +Tea-tree Oil Massage
Pure coconut oil is YOUR one-stop solution for all hair and skin problems. A nourishing coconut oil (Use the one from Omved)and castor oil ( Use the one from Mamaearth) nail massage in which you have added some tea-tree essentail oil (for 1 tbsp oil use 3 drops of essential oil) works as an amzazng moisturiser for your nails. can work as an amazing moisturizer for the nails and prevent various types of nail infections. Let this oil remain on your hands for about 30 minutes and wash off with luke warm water. If your hands a very dry, you may need a hand moisturiser. I use the one from Nashi.

Mix equal parts of olive oil, almond oil, and jojoba oil and heat the mixture in a copper vessel till it is warm to touch, I have these oils from Juicy Chemistry. Make ten cotton rolls and dip each of these rolls in the warm pol and place on the fingers. Keep massaging the hands as the oil will drip from the cotton balls. Discard these cotton balls after 20 minutes and use a bit of sugar or a powdered hand scrub to wash off the excess oils.
