The Nature’s Co October Beauty Wish Box {Product Review}

October 29, 2013 By: Pratibha6 Comments

The Nature’s Co October Beauty Wish BoxSo far, it has been Vellvette that has been ruling the market with its beauty boxes, so when The Nature’s Co announced its own beauty box, I was a bit curious. After all, they could offer only their products and what could be the variety they would offer in one box. How many samples would they send and what would be the sample size? Would anyone want 6 samples of the same brand? Too many questions right? So here it is, the beauty box subscription service called the The Nature’s Co October Beauty Wish Box and I am superbly thrilled to own the first Edition of the Beauty Wish box.

The Nature’s Co October Beauty Wish Box

First things first, I am in love with the box that is shaped like a treasure chest and when you open the little clasp, you can see all the goodies wrapped neatly inside along with the sweet smelling pot-pourri that you inhale as soon as you open the box.  There were eight samples in total  which included two bonus items.

The Nature’s Co October Beauty Wish BoxOther items in The Nature’s Co October Beauty Wish Box include a personalised note (that I wish was proof-read), a flat 35% coupon code only on those items that were a part of the box ( valid for 6 months as opposed to the 1 month validity with Vellvette), a complimentary spa treatment for 10 mins at any TNC outlet and a flat 10% off on SIA jewelery.

What was in The Nature’s Co October Beauty Wish Box?

Rosemary-Hibiscus Hair Mask:  This one came at the right moment. I was running low on the stock of a hair mask. This one seems fairly simple to use and I’ll surely use this one. The sample in the box is good enough for at least 2-3 uses for my hair length.

The Nature’s Co October Beauty Wish BoxCorn Exfoliating Face Pack:  This is something that I have been eyeing for a very very long time. I received two samples earlier from the store and I had to throw them because they were rock hard and I could not mix it into a smooth consistency. I am fan of scrubs in every form, so this will be probably be purchased because I love the texture of it.

Jasmine Body Lotion:  If you are a fan of flowery fragrances, then you will love this one!  I have used this just once and it left my skin hydrated for a really long time. I am not a big fan of Jasmine, but thankfully the fragrance lessens so that is a life saver. The packaging is not a friendly one though, the tube is hard plastic and I need quite a bit of effort to get the lotion out.

White Lily Body Scrub: Another floral fragrance. I sampled this and it seems nice and has mild granules for exfoliation purposes. The sample is enough for just two uses though. This one is not my skin type, but with the onset of winters, my skin does turn dry, so I will use this one.

Walnut-Mint Foot scrub – Used earlier and reviewed too

Beautybox4Mixed Fruit Cleansing Cream :  Not a fan of cleansers, so I will give this one a miss.

Bonus Items
Chocolate-Mint Lip balm:  My love for lip balms will never end! So yes, I will use this one too

Rose Hydrating Facial Mist :  The personalized note mentions that the Corn Exfoliating Pack should be diluted with this mist and applied on the skin and here I was hoping that I could use it as a face spritz!

How was the box?

The Nature’s Co October Beauty Wish Box has just started and the first box looks quite promising! I have used quite a few of TNC products and I got just one product that I have already used. The box was a complete hair care as well as a skin care package.  Apart from the cleansing cream (because I don’t use one! ), I am surely going to use all the items in the box. The only drawback was that there was too much floral fragrance in the box. I would have loved some woody or earthy fragrance. The box lacked products from all their ranges and as the first edition, it could have included at least one each from all the ranges.

Another thing, The Nature’s Co October Beauty Wish Box lacked customisation, I clearly indicated that I have normal – combination skin and the box contained an item for dry skin, while the rest of the products were for all skin types. The only drawback ( if you may want to call that) is that you get to sample just one brand but at least 8 products in comparison to 3 varied sample sized products that is the norm in the leading beauty box in India. I’d say that if you do not mind getting half a dozen or more products of the same brand to sample, don’t give this one a miss.

What would I like to see in the boxes?

If the bonus products are here to stay in every box, I do hope that TNC includes samples of the awesome essential oils and incense sticks too! After all they calm you down and a calm you is a beautiful you! And I am also hoping that there is better customisation according to the skin type in the next boxes. I am hoping to see the awesome range of  hair cleansers, body butter, sugar scrubs, body washes and more. Priced at INR 595, this is certainly one box that you should try!
