Ubtans are always a better option for using as a face wash. I came across Iraya products fairly recently and I decided to give it a try. And I have not been disappointed! This ubtan is really good and I have replaced my regular facewash and scrub with this because it did suit my skin very well.
The Mandinta Ubtan (Exfoliating Scrub)
This is a very coarse powder and the first smell that I could gather was that of fennel seeds ( saunf). It is a brownish coarse powder that you need to mix with water to your desired consistency and massage it on your face for at least a minute. Let it stay for a few seconds before you wash it off. It is also packed with the goodness of neem that helps control break outs and the oiliness. I had used rose water to mix in this powder and I make the paste just a little short of a runny paste because that consistency helps me massage it well on my face. I tend to leave this scrub on for a minute and wash it off. This is not your regular scrub because like a typical scrub, this does not contain any granules that help exfoliate the skin.
Where can I buy this? I bought this from UT. Iraya has physical stores in Delhi and I am not aware of any other website that sells it online.
Packaging: This is packed in a little glass jar and the ubtan is packed in a small plastic bag. I had quite a bit of the ubtand spilled out because the packet inside the jar was torn. You need to empty the contents in the glass jar. The only hitch in this packaging is that it is not a travel friendly package. It could have been packed in jar with a screw shut lid so that it could be dunked into the bag.
Price and Shelf Life : This is a 50 gm ubtan that costs Rs. 345 and has a shelf life of 2 years from the date of manufacture.
How to use: Mix the scrub with a little water in the palm of your hand. Massage gently onto damp face and rough skin patches. Wash off. I used rose water to make a paste and massaged it on the face for about 1 minute. I let it stay on for a minute before washing it off with tepid water.
Will I recommend this product?: Yes, even though it is a tad expensive, I found it really suiting my skin I have a combination skin and I noticed a visible difference because there was a reduction in the oiliness.

Sounds like a good product, I wish there were good enough washes like this without the mixing prcess.
