A skin care routine is one of the most important things to follow. It is more than just the Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise routine. With the changing seasons, it is normal for your skin to change its requirements too. I am more inclined towards something citrusy and minty in the summers to keep my skin feeling refreshed. My skin tends to get more oily across the T- Zone in the summers. My regular facewash does work to a great extent, but I believe that once in a while, you should experiment with a new product to check if it may suit your skin.
SoulTree Face Wash – Nutgrass , Neem and Soothing Chamomile
I have used almost all the face washes from Soultree, but hadn’t got around to trying this one. So when I was sent the Soultree Face wash with Nutgrass & Neem with Soothing Chamomile to try I was ready for it. Its a very light facewash with a slight hint of fragrance. Like most natural face washes from Soultree, this does not lather too but does a good job of getting rid of the dirt and grime.
Very effective in controlling the oil levels at least for my skin which is a combination skin, that tends to get slightly oily in the summer season. Recently when I had applied make-up, the face wash didn’t work effectively to wash off the traces of make up. So if you do use make-up a lot, I’d advise wiping out the traces of it with pure coconut oil and then using this facewash to cleanse your skin completely.
Chamomile, Nutgrass and hint of Mandarin oil in the facewash helps to keep your skin clean, clear and fresh. Anti-microbial action from Turmeric and Neem protects against acne and keeps your skin clean, radiant and irritation free with regular use. Buy this from SoulTree now.

Hi Pratibha.. Face washes are the most important thing in skincare. In summers there are few things that i love to do for my facial skin is to keep it oil & swear free. the skin should never have sweat or oil that attracts dirt and results in unwanted acne issues.. My first tip is to use facewash minimum 2 times in day, can be washed 3 times according to skin type but not more than 4 times otherwise it will take off required moisturize from the skin.

You mean sweat free 😉

My second tip to maintain my skin in summers is to : Take dried Green Tea leaves and grind them to make a powder then add Oats Flour and Tea Tree Essential oils (maximum 10-12 drops).
This can be used as powder/ soap free cleanser, mild scrub and if added in Fuller’s earth it works as a face pack to prevent acne issues and dry skin girls should add a little spoon of curd in face pack to avoid dryness issues. Filtered water/ Rose water should be used to make face pack for oily skin girls..

*have to Drink Lots of Water
I Try to drink lots of water and fluids to keep my body hydrated. During summer season my daily water requirement increased because a lot of water waste due to heat and sweating and to flush out the toxins.
*having Juicy Fruits
I Try to eat more juicy fruits like watermelon, grapes, pears, blueberries, strawberries and pomegranate to get back lost fluids and moisturizers.
*eating Fresh Salad
I always Include fresh salad in my diet and increase the intake of cucumber, beetroot, tomato, radish and carrot.
*using Rose Water
I Try to daily wash my face with rose water every day. Its natural cooling properties make it an excellent toner for the hot summer season.
*Skin Exfoliation
I Don’t forget to weekly exfoliate my skin with good scrub.i can also make a good scrub at home by 4 to 5 table spoons of gram flour(besan), a pinch of turmeric(haldi), 5-6 drops of rose water and milk or yogurt. I Mix them well to form a paste and use it to exfoliate my face and neck.
*making a Mask for soft and glowing Skin
I can also make a home based pack by 2 tablespoons of mashed papaya,1 table spoon of honey and 1 egg white. After that i Mix them well and apply on my face and neck. I Leave this for 15 minutes then rinse off with cold water and feel the freshness of soft, smooth and glowing skin.
*using Cucumber and Yogurt Face Pack
First i Blend a half cucumber and 1 table spoon of yogurt in mixer then apply this on my face and neck. After 15 minutes i rinse off with fresh water and feel a fresh and supple skin.
* using Lemon For Sun Tan
Lemon is a natural bleaching agent and can help remove the tan from the face. Lemon contains ascorbic acid due to which it can easily bleach tanned skin.i Simply squeeze a lemon into a dish. Then i Soak a cotton ball into the lemon juice and apply it all over my face and neck. Lemon is also considered best to give you glowing skin.Although Lemon is supposed to be a natural bleach but be aware that it dries the face. Thats why i always apply a good moisturizer or almond oil after washing off lemon.
* using Lemon Juice and Honey
For me, i also massage sun tanned skin with mixture of lemon juice and honey because Honey is also considered a natural bleach for the skin.
* I Stay indoors between 11am-3pm
I Try to stay indoors between 11am and 3pm because during this time period sun’s rays are the strongest and can have an adverse effect on my skin.
* using Sun Screen
I Don’t forget to apply a good sunscreen 30 minutes before i step out.
*Making Use of Hats
I Make use of hats, sunglasses and full covered dresses.
*wearing Loose Fitting cloths
I Wear loose fitting cotton clothes to release the trapped moisture so that my skin can breathe.
* using Cold Water
Every evening i splash lot of cold water on face and eyes. Then i Soak cotton pads in cold water or rose water then place them on close my eyes for 10-15 minutes.

Wake up early in the morning 5-5:15 am, wear comfy clothes (cotton based that absorbs sweat), carry a water bottle and hand towel head to the nearby park.
In summers, the hot weather don’t allow us to go outside in daytime and that result to no contact with fresh air & sunlight. Like the CTM routine & weekly skincare routine are important for a healthy skin.
An exposure with the fresh air and sunlight is also important. Everyone advise us not to outside in daytime under sun / or use high SPF sunscreen lotions. But required sun exposure is also important so try to go in sun in early morning 5-7 am time is best, that time our skin maximum absorbs the vitamin D from the sun and doesn’t get damaged too.
or in case if any one still get tanned after applying sunscreen lotions then after coming back from morning walk, apply a curd, tomato, fuller’s earth face pack to remove tan.
carrying a water bottle in important because walk results in sweating and reduces the water level in body an unhealthy body can result in faint issues. so precautionary drink water during walks. and drinking water is a healthy habit and helps the skin to glow internally..

Hi another skincare tip for summers is to apply a gel based moisturizers or serums.. Facial serums provide very good moisture to facial skin and maintain it for long time.
My DIY for a facial serum is to take 3-4 aloe vera sticks
(try to plant aloe vera in a pot at your home instead of using packed fertilizers put cow dung/ peels of fruits/ veggies in it and use it as manure to grow organic aloe vera)
cut them and take out the gel out of the sticks and mix them in mixer/ hand blender and a frothy liquid will come out. but it will also have some lumps of aloe vera in it, take out the juice out of it and add 4-5 drops of your favorite essential oil in it, it acts as preservative and keep it in refrigerator and use it for a week. I personally use Rose (for its fragrance and toning properties), tea tree essential oil can be used by acne prone and oily skin. Apply this facial serum after face wash and it will give nice glowing clean moisturized skin and the stickiness also goes away in a minute.

4. Drink plenty of water to remain hydrated, and not missing on all the seasonal fruits

Hi.. my today’s tip has now moved to bodycare tip.. in summers we generally take care of facial skin but we forget the entire body.. After my workout sessions i need a heavy duty product that deeply cleans my body, cleans the pores and give me clean fresh feel and due to sweatting during workout i want to keep my body germ free..
Take 2 spoons of each Neem leaves powder, mint leaves powder, basil leaves powder (antiseptic) , coffee bean powder or powder coffee or Sugar+ Salt can also be used (exfoliation), add 1/2 spoon of camphor in it (to get cool sensation) , gram/ oats flour (to get paste texture) , coconut oil (dry skin) /milk or curd (combination skin) / water (oily skin) (for moisturization) ..
Soon you have a coffee and antiseptic leaves fluffy textured paste.. this will deeply clean your body and give you fresh exfoliated polished body..
Later on fuller’s earth mud pack can be used as a body wrap..

Another tip for summers is to make a facial toner.. filtered water / distilled water about 150 ml.. boil it and switch off the flame as the water has boiled .. add 2 satches of green tea , cover it with lid & wait till the green tea water cools down.. take out the used green tea satches & now add 12-15 drops of tea tree essential oil in it .. transfer it in a spray bottle and use it after washing your face, whenever you need freshness on your skin.. this can be used on hair scalp for treating dandruff also.. this toner will prevent acne & oily skin issues…
