Skin Yoga Neem Body Purifier

September 20, 2015 By: Pratibha5 Comments

This was a part of the MEB (My Envy Box) in Feb 2015. I never got around using it for a while and when I did I was really impressed with this fab product.I am not sure about when Skin Yoga was launched and I haven’t seen many reviews doing the rounds either. The ones that are available are a mix of Aye’s and Nay’s. Anyway, the sample that came with MEB was a Neem Body Purifier, essentially  a body scrub that needs to be mixed with water and massaged over the body.

I love scrubs, whether its making own or using some that I have picked up while shopping. I have however, never used a neem based scrub so I was really keen to try this one. This is a sample sized sachet that contains roughly 22gms of the scrub. The scrub is sufficient for at least 3 uses. I could have used it in one go, but I preferred spreading the usage to see how the product actually fares.

Skin Yoga Neem Body Purifier is a combination of barley powder, coconut powder and neem powder. I was expecting a bitter fragrance because of neem in this, instead I was mildly surprised that it had a strong fragrance of coconut, you know the desiccated kind. The powder is soft to the touch, but when you mix it with water, it gets a slightly rough texture that allows you to massage your body with it. I made it into a slightly runny paste and massaged it well. When I washed it off with warm water, my skin was moisturised and felt nourished.

I have always used this scrub post a regular shower. The anti baterial properties of neem help to cleanse the skin from impurities and also sanitize it. I have a combination skin and I noticed that I did not need a moisturiser post a bath because the coconut in the scrub softened  the skin. I am looking at this more as a winter product because my skin does tend to get dry in the winters.

Again, I am not sure how this would fare on oily skin because of the coconut powder. Skin Yoga Neem Body Purifier scrub leaves your skin looking clean, moisturised and radiant without drying it out.

Cost and Availability

Priced at INR 1990 for 220 gms, I find this very overpriced. You can buy this from the Skin Yoga website here. You can also view the rest of the products here. I certainly wont be spending money on this product if I do want to buy something from this brand.

What SKIN YOGA says
Neem leaves are the best answer to all skin problems. The bitterness of neem will help you get rid of bacteria and various skin allergies. Regular use will help you free from unwanted body odor. This anti-inflammatory and medicinal body wash can be used regularly for post exercise shower.
To use
Take small handfuls of the scrub and apply onto wet skin in shower. Scrub your entire body for 5-7 minutes. Follow up with your routine shower.

I’d love to try their face masks, foot soaks and face wash. Actually the coffee body wash seems really nice too! I know they are sending out samples of their products regularly in some of the beauty boxes, but unfortunately I do not subscribe to them. When I do get around buying some more prods, will stop by with more reviews!
