When you make the switch to organic and green living, one of the major tasks that you face is looking for stores that sell the required range of organic products. Till now the options available were very few. The past few months have seen a sudden spurt of eco-friendly organic stores opening, some survived and some did not. Let me introduce you to one that did!
I was introduced to Mygreenkart by one of my readers and I was delighted to discover yet another organic e-retail store in India that stocks some awesome organic products. Even before I started shopping with MyGreenKart and browsing through the list of products I came across an interesting section called Shop for a Cause that caught my eye. They have a lot of products that are associated with certain groups like WWF, Antakranti etc which promote goods that are associated with a cause. WWF is associated with protecting the wildlife and Antakrant promotes products made by the inmates in Tihar. I wish there was a bit of write up on the website that spoke about the causes associated so that one could know the percentage of proceeds that went to the organization.
Now MyGreenKart stocks multiple eco-friendly and organic brands which gives the customer an advantage to compare between products and buy what suits them. The site has a mix of healthy snacking, essential vitamins, electrical appliances, clothing and accessories, essential oils and pot-pourri, personal care and more.
If you are a staunch believer in nothing but 100% organic ingredients in your products then you might not find it acceptable to have a SLS based product or a fragrance based product in their store, do read their about us page to know more. If I chose to ignore those points and concentrate on the rest of the products they have, I am a happy person because I have found an awesome store to shop for some of my favourite products.
What I picked up from them:
- A sling on bag that I had been planning to buy for a very long time. It makes it convenient for me to dump everything in one bag and I get to sling it across so my hands are free.
- Some incense cones that look absolutely inviting
- Azafran Body butter – stocking up for the winter
- A WWF pouch bag that holds things that I buy on an impulse 🙂
Now that I am done with what I shopped for, let me rate my shopping experience.
Ease of navigation – 5/5 – The categorisation is simple and products are easy to find. I just wish they had a Brands Category that allowed me to see at a glance all the brands that were available with them. Sometimes it easier to shop via brands when you know what exactly you are looking at.
Billing 4/5: Since I was given a voucher to shop, the system was not accepting the voucher for almost a day and it took almost a day to get resolved. Also what I noted was that the items disappeared from the cart if I logged out after selecting the items. This happened about 3-4 times. I will need to shop with them again to see how the billing works when I do a COD or prepaid order. So yes, shopping again is on the agenda! And if you want to shop, head over to MyGreenKart to avail a 10% off on a selected range of merchandise.
Product range and brand variety – 4/5 – You will find the well known brands here as well as some new brands that I have discovered, like the ones I have mentioned above. While I am pretty impressed with the range of Antakranti incense cones, but I am not sure about the organic part here. And as I write this I see that the incense cones and sticks are no longer a part of the SKU’s.
Use the Coupon Code 10MYGREENKART to get a 10% off on a wide range of selected products. Click here to shop! |
Packaging and Delivery – 4/5 – Was delivered in 2 days and there were multiple layers of packing in it. They could saved a bit of paper and omitted the thermocol which was a part of the packaging. Deducting one point for the excess paper used.
Customer Service – 5/5 – Mails were sent on time and I did not need to follow up at any point of time.
Recommended ? – 5/5 – Yes! Give it some time and it surely will have more products and brands to offer.
Note: I was offered a GV to shop with them, but it has not affected this review

I have never tried their range but after reading your review I think they are definitely worth trying.

You may want to check the ingredients list, Even though they have awesome stuff, they also have brands that I would frown upon because they do not fall in the organic category, ex Iraya

I ordered an organic hair color on the 9th and I was committed the delivery date of 10th. The person who answered the phone was arrogant as hell and I did not hear him apologize even once for the delay. Finally, after following up for 3 consecutive days, the guy kept telling me that “Sir, aap samjho, kabhi delay ho jata hai”, as if I am ordering the local sabzi wala to deliver onions at my home.
I feel this is the WORST and the most UNPROFESSIONAL experience I have had.

Kunal, I can understand the frustration. It would be nice if you can actually resolve this with the customer care of mygreenkart 🙂

The issue mentioned in my original comment happened with their customer care only. They have a mobile number as their so called customer service and the call is answered by a person who neither agrees to the fact that a mistake has been made at their end nor is empathic to handle an irate caller. He spoke to me as if he was obliging me by sending me the material I had ordered. During my 5 calls within 4 days of delay, he mentioned atleast 6-7 times that he still holds the authority to hold or cancel the order.

In that case, nothing much can happen really. All that needs to be done is better their customer service!
