As a mom, one of the things that is always at the back of mind is the safety of my children. Whether they are at school, at home or just about anywhere, ensuring their safety is of prime importance. While they have been taught the basics like telling our names (and not just papa and mama!) and our address, in case of an emergency, there are other factors that I worry about too. Being bullied, not knowing the difference between a friend and a stranger, being calm and not losing the temper, the list is pretty endless. For a long time I thought that having the added advantage of working from home and getting to spend time with my kids made it easier for me to get the message about safety across. Sadly, I was mistaken when I realised that my teaching to my kids about safety was limited. There were so many safety aspects that I had clearly missed out. But then, better late than never! So I make it a point to read out a story for them as often as I can and also check with them about how much they have grasped.
Tell a story
Story telling is one of the best ways to get a message across and I try and indulge in story telling at least thrice a week with the boys and these books came handy when I had to educate them about safety. The books have easy to understand stories supported with illustrations that makes it easier for you to get the message across to the kids. How to stay away from strangers, differentiating between a good and bad behaviour, what to in case of an emergency, staying away from a bully to the basics of manners are some of the topics that are covered in these safety comic books.
About SafetyKart
SafetyKart is a website that deals with a wide range of safety equipment for personal safety, industrial safety, home and workplace safety and hygiene safety to name a few categories. They have some really nice products that should be a must have in your home. As a part of their CSR activities, Safety Kart has tied up with the NGO KIDPOWER based out of Vizag to collect money for their initiative by selling these Safety comic books. They have already distributed these books free of cost in a few schools in New Delhi.
So, if you would like to do your bit and give a bit back to the society, pick up these books. I’d recommend these books to every parent. As a parent, we know that there is nothing better than ensuring our kids are safe and well aware of what is right and what is wrong. These books are priced at INR 100 for the age group 3-10 and INR 125 for the pre-teens. You can but these books at a combo price at INR 208. Just one input here, you’ll find a couple of spelling errors in the stories, but if you ignore them, the stories are nice to read out to your kids.

Amazing ! Both your post and this product . Parents , in this fast-paced life often neglect their responsibility towards their children . And this neglect makes children susceptible to the negativities of this world , misleading them at such a tender phase of life. I personally appreciate your effort and yes a sincere mum like you is truly fabulous ! 😀

Hello ! Iam fine , what about you ?
See being a blogger is different , and being a “concerned blogger” is different. I admire you , because you fit into the latter category. This post of yours is a reminder to all the parents , to look beyond their limited circle ; to widen their vision. So madame , great job ! 🙂

🙂 I am truly flattered! Very honestly, I guess I belonged to the category of parents that was sure that nothing would happen to my kids, and that I had taught what they needed to know. But when I read these comics, it hit me big time that I was not being a good parent. I had clearly missed out things that were right in front of me. 🙂 Happens to the best of us, and as long as we learn from it, nothing else matters.

That maybe true , but I could never doubt your intentions. So if today you have managed to get these comics , Iam sure you’ll make the best use of it. And perhaps , many would get to learn a lot from your experience. I believe. If we could mend our ways , at whatever stage maybe ( when best realized) , then there is nothing like that 🙂
