A long overdue review! I received a Rustic Art hamper from the GrennGood store for a competition that I had participated. It comprised of a face wash, body wash and the superb pre-shampoo deep conditioner. For a very long time I have been hoping that Rustic Art launched more products. They do have a fab collection of organic skin care products as well as organic hair oils that are awesome, but as a brand loyalist, I was always hoping that they bring out more products. And when I was told that they would be soon launching a range of face washes and body washes, I was happy and well more happy when these landed as a part of the gift hampers
Rustic Art Crimson Blush Rose Face Wash
The Rustic Art face wash came at the right time just when my regular face was getting over and I thought a change would do my skin some good. I was sent the Rustic Art Crimson Blush Rose Face Wash as a part of the hamper. When I saw the product I was not sure how it would fare, because till now I have been using face wash(es) that have been thick in consistency with most of them bordering on a gel like appearance. This one is absolutely watery. Now with the gel consistency, I have an idea about how much quantity one takes, but with the liquid one it took me about 2-3 washes to get the right quantity. You need just about one pump of the liquid (actually lesser!) to wash your face with this.
The fragrance is very mild, almost negligible like most of Rustic Art products. It keeps your face clean for a long time. I am prone to an oily T-zone within two hours of washing my face and with this face wash ( and also as it was with my regular face wash), the T zone does not get oily for at least 4 hours. I don’t need to follow up with a moisturiser post a wash at least till now. This bottle is likely to last all through the winter too and I’ll know how well it will leave the skin moisturised in that season too.

Price and Availability
Priced at INR 230, this 100 ml face wash is likely to last at least 3 months even with two washes because the quantity you require is pretty less. It has a shelf life of 18 months. You can buy this from Amazon India.
What’s in it?
Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Corn Oil, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Castor Oil, Vit E, Veg Glycerin, Demineralized Water, Caustic Lye, Essential Oils of Rose & Mild Sandal, IFRA Certified Fragrance Of Rose.
Rustic Art Charming Glow Organic Lotus Body Wash
I have been currently using the body wash from FE and Soultree and this was added to the collection. The consistency of the body wash is slightly thicker than the face wash, but still is a runny consistency. The nozzle that I have with this body wash dispenses out a very teeny amount and I need to dispense out the desired quantity with at least 4-5 pumps. You will need about a little more than half a teaspoon of the body wash to use in the shower, not more. The body wash has a light lingering fragrance, in fact I also use it for my boys.
Price and Availability
Priced at INR 390, this 200 ml body wash has a shelf life on 18 months. And just like all Rustic Art products you need really less quantity of the product. You can buy this from Amazon India. I do need use a body moisturiser post using any body wash because my body tends to get dry all year around. You may not require the same for an oily skin.
What’s in it?
Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Corn Oil, Organic Neem Oil, Organic Castor Oil, Vit – E Oil, Lotus Seed Extract, Aloe Vera, Veg Glycerine, De-mineralized Water, Blended Organic Essential Oils Of Lotus, Lemon & Rosemary.
The only issue I have with at least the body wash and the face wash is the packaging, I wish they used the extended nozzle packaging similar to what Omved has or maybe have the dispenser pump out more quantity of the product.
Recommendations?
Yes , of course! I have always found Rustic Art products to be value for money. You may find some of the products like the moisturisers that are on the expensive side, but since it lasts so long, the money goes a really long way! And the best part, it is organic! Both the products are vegan and USDA certified.

Indeed a long awaited post ! But , Iam really happy that finally it has been posted. Nice and informative work Prats ! 🙂
Query : My skin becomes dry in winters . Over-moisturization doesn’t work ( makes my skin greasy ) , and otherwise my skin develops dryness patches . So a face wash plays an important role in my winter care routine. Do you think rustic art’s rose face wash will work in winters ? Actually it comprises of lye , which makes skin feel tight , just like after using a soap , so Iam a little apprehensive that how it would fare out in winters .
Also please suggest some organic soaps for winters.
Pratibha says
I really am not sure how it will fare and that is what I mentioned in my post too that I need to see how this will fare in the winter. For me any face wash will dry out my skin including the ubtans and my other fav face wash from Omved. I use the Rusttic Art Anti wrinkle lotion OR the Omved protective moisturiser for the face post the wash. You need use really really less of these to moisturise your face so you can control the greasiness part.
It is the same case with soap, everything dries my skin so I need to use a moisturiser for the body too. If you can switch to Dove just for the winter, not an organic option I know, but that is the only one which can keep your skin moisturised.

I have tried its other variants , neem and basil and sandalwood also. Neem one is good for summers , especially in monsoon . In changing weather I will prefer sandalwood one. So planning for rose next ! 😀
Soul Tree’s moisturizer is just fabulous. A must buy for winters. Also Iam planning to try Rustic Art’s lotions this time.
But yes soaps , are something that Iam looking forward for buying these days. Azafran soaps are really creamy , unlike other handmade soaps. Also soulflower’s soaps. How would you rate Rustic Art’s soaps for winters ? And dove , nahiii ! :p 😀
Pratibha says
I think the combo of Rustic Art FW and the lotions will work. I am not sure of Soulflower soaps either. I use RA or Omved moisturisers only and I am happy with the performance, so I am not sure if I am willing to experiment with something other brand.
Anjali pant says
What is FW ? You may ask greenngood for soul tree’s moisturizer’s sample, I guess they must be having it. And soulflower’s milk cocobar is moisturizing , don’t know much about others. But still I find Azafran’s range more moisturizing. But the only problem is that they melt very easily , lasting for not more than approx 2 weeks.
Pratibha says
FW – Face Wash 🙂 Azafran melts too quickly. I have not tried he Soulflower soap as yet.

loved it! been using the Neem and Basil face wash for some time 😀 it’s good! and Lemon face wash and Rose body washes are on the way!
Pratibha says
Neem and basil would make my skin more dry and at the moment I am content with the Rose face wash!

In extreme winters , SOS organic’s body butters may work really well. So creamy they are ! Amazing ! Soulflower soaps are fine , I really like the jasmine one 😀
Pratibha says
I have the azafran one too which I did not like ( the body butter), I’ll stick the omved soaps, they have never dried out my skin.
Anjali pant says
Well Azafran’s body butters are India Organic certified so Iam not really sure of the ingredients. Iam yet to try their body butter range ( planning to give them a try in winters ) . But SOS I have used , and it works wonders in winters , especially for dry and excessively dry skin. Even for kids ! But yes , fragrance is not very pleasant. SOS’s other products like soaps and scrubs are also fast moving.
To combat winter dryness , I often add 3-4 drops of Soulflower’s massage oils in warm water , and that works really well. The aroma is enchanting plus it moisturizes my skin well. So it’s not just soaps that I rely on , it’s a fusion of 3-4 things . Happy Winter Time ! 😀
Pratibha says
I have an SOS hand cream, will try that out and yes the fragrance is not that awesome at all! I do indulge in a massge before a bath at least once a week, but in the winter a body butter is something I cannot stay without.

Prats? and yes, Anjali too,
are Oilcraft floral waters available anywhere other than greenngood?
Anjali pant says
Hey Atrayee !
Well earlier they were at snapdeal and flipkart , however at present I could see only its soaps at flipkart , whereas not even a single product of it at snapdeal . So I guess greenngood is your best option , atleast for now. Good Day ! 🙂
Anjali pant says
Moreover , at flipkart , it’s soaps are being sold by greenngood only. Plus there is additional charge of delivery , which is Rs.40. So it will be better if you order through greenngood directly.
Ray S says
okay, thanks! there are 3 variants, which one would you suggest for oily, acne-prone, sensitive skin?
Anjali pant says
All 3 are equally good. Panchpushp is meant for skin firming and complexion , rose for toning and mogra for hydration. Panchpushp is my favourite so I always keep a bottle with me. And along with that I alternate between mogra and rose. Fragrance of mogra is not that great. So if you have a preference for fragrance , then you may not buy that. Rose is all time good. So I won’t strictly say what to buy and what not to buy. All are worth trying. Since winters is approaching , you may start with panchpushp 🙂
