Top 5 Organic Skincare Brands in India

My quest to discovering organic skincare brands in India started post the birth of my twin boys. In the quest to give them pure and natural products, I began to discover products for myself as well. There is a lot of green washing that happens today. Brands list their range of products as natural and organic but fail to disclose the complete list of ingredients either on the website or the product packaging.

Here is my list of 100% organic skincare brands in India. These are brands that are known for the ethical methods that they follow while making the products. After scouting the market and using these products for myself, I have made this list of brands that are known for their organic skincare products. These are products and brands that I would recommend! I am also mentioning some of my favourite products in these brands.

Top 5 Organic Skincare Brands in India

Conventional skin and hair care products need to natural and organic and free from chemicals to work effectively. Any sort of chemicals in it is likely to cause harm to your skin and hair than repair them.  Lets look at some of the organic skincare brands in India. Some of these brands are expensive because of the organic ingredients used in them but you really need just a teeny bit of it to let the results show. So a little bit does go a long way! Here is my list of top 5 organic skincare brands in India.

1. OMVED

Tops the list every time! I was introduced to this brand in 2010 and there has been no looking back. They have a brilliant range of products in aromatherapy, skin and hair care, wellness and mom and baby care. I have used quite a few of their products. My favourite ones are from the skin and hair care and the aromatherapy range. Masks, shampoos and conditioners, hair oils, lotions, soaps and more! The options to choose are exhaustive.  Omved is a Mumbai-based brand certified vegan by PETA. All the products from this brand are toxin free. They follow the policy of full disclosure of ingredients that helps a consumer make an informed choice of what they want to buy. Starting from ₹500 onwards, their products are shipped all over India.

2. BURST OF HAPPYNESS

‘Burst of Happyness’ is aptly named because you’re one happy person after you use their products.  Founded by Shreya Sharan, this brand has a wonderful collection skin and hair care products that she keeps adding to. The natural deos are my current favourite. Her skin care range includes body butters that I am yet to try, some fabulous hair and skin soaps, bath pastes, skin masks (I swear by Clay-O-Patra!) and scrubs. Starting from as less as ₹260, you can also source some natural butters from her if you want to make your own products. They ship all over India.

3. KRYA

Krya is a range of skin and hair care products that will transport you back to your childhood.  Cruelty free and vegan, the founders Preethi and Srini are known to spend time researching and creating the best plant based products for us. All the products (except oils) are powder based that needs to be mixed with water to be used. I had major concerns about using their shampoos because not having a product that would semi-lather was daunting. But trust me it made my hair squeaky clean. I love the range of face mask, hair oils (I use it for my boys and myself), hair mask and shampoos. Starting from as less as ₹280 they ship all over India and abroad as well.

4. SOULTREE

The origin of SoulTree started with the premise to build a business that could contribute to sustainable development. Working with groups of Himalayan farmers who were organically cultivating organic Ayurvedic herbs in remote regions, sourcing the best ingredients, providing complete ingredient transparency to customers are some of the mantras that Soultree lives by. They have a skin and hair care range and have some fabulous organic lip colors that you must try. And if you like kajals, do look up the various shades that they have. If you are looking at a complete skin and hair care sampling, try out some of the kits that they have which will give you an idea of how the products will work for you. 5. JUICY CHEMISTRY

There’s a huge benefit when you buy products from Juicy Chemistry – you can identify the ingredients at first sight! The team behind the brand believes that skin care shouldn’t be complicated. They believe that nature has every remedy to take care of our skin and hair. Juicy Chemistry has an extensive range of skin care and hair care products. They have also recently started with mom and baby products as well as some essential oils.  I have used their foot soaks, body scrubs, soaps and nourishing creams that hydrate your body without stripping it off the essential oils.

My list is no order and I have just mentioned the brands I believe provide the best organic skincare products in India. I know that there are more brands in the market but they have not been mentioned either because I have not used it, the range does not list all ingredients or they are not COMPLETELY organic.
