My journey with Omved started more than 6 years ago and ever since then there really has been no looking back. I have used products from most of their categories, but the skin & hair care is what I keep coming back to. And yes the mum and baby care range. I have forgotten the number of people I have recommended the range! Coming back to my review!
Of late I had been facing a lot of hairfall and dandruff. When you have hair woes, choosing a right hair care regime is important. If you can, choose products from the same brand that help you with the issue. Omved has a series of products that are targetted to specific hair care issues and I have noticed that when you use them together, it gives you a better hair care solution. Protecting your hair is an important aspect that helps you with healthy tresses.
Chemicals tend to damage your hair and even though its going to be close to a year since I applied any hair colour, I still see the damage it has caused. I have already been using Sukeshant Oil for the past year and a half and I chose to use the complete hair care range from Omved which includes the Omved Restorative Shampoo and Soothing Conditioner to ease a troubled scalp and reduce dandruff.
I’ll review the hair oil in a later post. I am talking about the Omved Restorative Shampoo and Soothing Conditioner in this review.
Omved Restorative Shampoo and Soothing Conditioner Review
A constant dry and itchy scalp with dry flakes was what I noticed a few months ago. No matter how many home solutions I tried the dandruff came back with and it was really annoying. Whenever I applied the oil, there was respite from the itching, but it was back to square one once I had shampooed my hair. And in a few weeks I noticed one of the boys with the same issue. I knew that I had to choose a gentler shampoo for him. Even though I had been wanting to buy the range from Omved I had not got around doing so.
So this time I picked up the Omved Restorative Shampoo and the Soothing Conditioner for myself and the boy! The shampoo is packed with extracts of aloevera, shikakai, reetha and brahmi ( all the things we used as kids!). The Restorative Shampoo by Omved also has essential oils of tea tree, cedarwood and lemon to combat dandruff and soothe the troubled scalp.
My experience with Omved Restorative Shampoo and Soothing Conditioner
I have been using the shampoo and conditioner for over a month now. The routine is same. I oil my hair at least thrice a week and its a shampoo and conditioner followed after that. I would have used the products at least a dozen times over the month. My son’s dandruff has reduced to quite an extent and his hair is softer than before. My dandruff has reduced marginally and I can say that the scalp is less dry and itchy.
With a very minimal fragrance, (I could smell only tea tree) and less lather, this shampoo helps to gently clean the scalp and reduce the irritation. You need to shake the shampoo bottle really well to let the ingredients blend before you use it. I love the conditioner, unlike the ones available in the market which are creamy, this has a wonderful texture that makes it easy to apply to the hair. For my short hair I need about 4 pumps of the conditioner to apply it completely. It leaves my hair softer and more manageable.
As I always say, it never hurts to use a product that is natural, organic and vegan. And when it is PETA certified, it makes a difference. You know what you are using is safe for you and the earth.
Using the Omved Restorative Shampoo and Soothing Conditioner
I have short hair, so I need roughly about 4-5 pumps of the shampoo to clean my hair. If I have oiled my hair I need to shampoo my hair at least 2 times to get rid of the oil. Omved oils are a bit heavy and they take a while to rinse out of the hair. Ditto with the conditioner. You need to completely wet your hair before you use it. Since it lathers less, initially you may feel that
I use half the quantity I take for the boy and I do follow up with the conditioner as well and I have noticed better hair quality and texture of his hair. It cleans the hair really well and keeps the scalp trouble free which is required in this summer.
Buying the range
The products that fall in the category to ease a troubled scalp and reduce dandruff are – Sukeshant Scalp Hair Oil along with the Omved Restorative Shampoo and Soothing Conditioner. There is also the hair mask, but it doesn’t suit my hair. You can buy them from the Omved store online. The shampoo and conditioner are priced at INR 590 each and the oil is for INR 540. All the sizes are available in 100 ml.
