The past month and a half has been pretty hectic for me. Moving homes, packing, unpacking, travelling and everything was taking its toll on me. From being ill to having body aches and pains, it was killing. My feet were the most affected and I longed for a good massage and some pampering. I knew that it was time for some TLC, so I picked up the Omved Foot Care Kit. One thing I like about kits is that it allows me to sample a product before I can buy a full sized one. Omved has a lot of kits at the store that one can sample before zeroing in to the product(s) they want to use again. Packed in a reusable jute bag, the Omved Foot Care Kit contains all that you need to pamper your feet. The kit comprises of a foot soak, an exfoliating scrub, an intense moisturising cream and a foot oil.
Using the Omved Foot Care Kit
Step 1: Soak
I have already used the foot soak earlier and the results were good, so this one was not a new product for me. You need to empty the entire contents of the sachet in a pail of hot water ( as hot as you can take) and soak your feet in it for at least 15 minutes. I added two drops each of Lavender EO and Peppermint EO to the hot water. You can actually skip adding the EO’s, but since I am so addicted to fragrances, I love the smell! Soaking your feet helps to get rid of the tiredness, aches and pains.
Step 2: Scrub
Once done, I pat the feet dry and used the exfoliating scrub. Using gentle strokes and wetting the feet at regular intervals, I massaged each foot for at least 3-4 minutes. The scrub has a nice minty fragrance and the powdered pumice stones help to exfoliate the dead skin and scrub your skin really clean.
I also used a vetiver scrubber post the massage on each foot for at least two minutes. I added a bit of shampoo on it and used to scrub the feet. This scrubber is soft and massages the feet well and also takes care of the getting rid of the dead skin. If you haven’t used it as yet, I do recommend that you try this instead of a loofah.
Step 3: Moisturise
The intense moisturizing cream is thick and the good part is that its spreads easily without making your feet feel greasy or slippery. I always have a hot towel wipe post a pedicure because I do not like the greasiness the massage creams leave. I had the hot towel ready to wipe the feet but the cream had already soaked in well and my feet were not greasy at all. It has a nice floral fragrance that lasts just for a while.
Step 4: Massage
Now this is a part, I would advise not to miss. Once the aches and pains are gone and your feet look nice, you tend to ignore it till you have to go through the pedicure routine again. This is where the Daily Night Foot Oil steps in. Massage your feet with this oil every night before you sleep. You need really little oil to massage your feet. The oil gets absorbed pretty quickly and ensure that you wear socks so that you do not stain the linen.

Price and Where to buy
Priced at INR 790, this kit has a foot soak, exfoliating scrub, intense massage cream and a massage oil. I wish they had at least 2 sachets of the foot soak so that I could use the kit more than once. Ditto with the scrub, the quantity is enough for just one use. I wish the quantity lasted at least two uses. The cream and the massage oil last for at least a fortnight or more depending on the usage. You can buy this basic foot care kit from the Omved store.
What’s my recommendation?
Each of the products is also available individually in the store, but I would recommend using the kit to sample the product and then pick and choose what you want to buy. The foot soak is a hit with the boys too, so that is something you will always find at my home, the scrub is something I will give a miss because I make my own scrubs, the intense moisturising cream and the daily night foot oil are a must buy if you want to pamper your feet.
