I have been itching to use a body oil for a long time and I picked the Forest Essential Body Oil – Mashobra Honey and Vanilla as a gift for myself for my birthday. Yes I indulged in a bit of pampering just like that!
Getting back to the body oil, they have a lot of fragrances available, but I particularly liked the Mashobra Honey and Vanilla variant because the fragrance was not overpowering when I smelled it at the store. It was mild and yet lingering, just the kind that I would have loved. It has the typical FE packaging with the sturdy bottle with the golden cap.
Using Mashobra Honey Vanilla Bath and Shower Oil
You can use this body oil as a part of your warm bath water or as a leave in moisturiser. I have used I both the ways and I find using it as the latter more beneficial especially in the winter.
Warm bath oil
All you need to do is pour a few drops of Mashobra Honey Vanilla Bath and Shower Oil in a bucket of warm water and use it to bathe. It not only leaves your skin moisturised, but also leaves behind a lingering fragrance that is mild. When you use it as a bath water, you are also wiping away a generous portion of the oil when you pat dry your body. This still keeps your skin moisturised but you will need to reapply a moisturiser at least 2 hours post a bath.
A leave in moisturiser
This is one of my preferred ways of using this oil because it leaves my body hydrated for a long time. Post a bath, take sufficient quantity of the oil in your palms and warm it a bit to apply all over your body. Using it as a leave in moisturiser leaves my skin soft, supple and hydrated for at least 8 hours at a stretch, but the only hitch is the fragrance lasts very long, so if you have no qualms of smelling like a fresh vanilla muffin use it as a leave in moisturiser.
Price and Availability
Priced at INR 1295, Mashobra Honey Vanilla Bath and Shower Oil is a 200 ml bottle comes with the shelf life of two years and it has to be used within 6 months of opening. I have used less than 30 ml as yet. Even if I start using it on my boys (which I doubt they will allow me to!) I will be able to exhaust about 60 ml only. I cannot even carry it over to the next winter but with the 6 month shelf life post opening it. Instead of throwing it away, I have decided to use it as the base oil for the scrubs and polishes! So I am hoping that I can use generous amount of oil and exhaust almost the entire bottle. I would recommend buying FE products from their store and not online, unless it is a repeat order.
Note to self and YOU: FE has a lot of travel sized products that are less expensive, so if you do want to try a product, use the travel sized product first and then move on to the larger sized products. And stick to smaller products when it comes to body oils because you really don’t need a 200 ml bottle, unless its going to be used by more people.
