I was introduced to Azafran with one of the life saving samples that came with the Enchantess Sampling Bag. The soap had an awesome fragrance and was really nice to use. A bit of search lead me to the entire range of products and I was lead to their range of body washes that I *had* to try!
The packaging is not that great. It’s a flimsy plastic bottle with the snap open lid that allows you to control the amount of body wash you want to use. The label on the bottle is pretty tacky with the flowers on it absolutely pixalated! If you can ignore these facts too and concentrate on the wonderful product they have, you can use it!
Update as on 19/7/2013: The packaging is undergoing a change and the body washes will soon be available in a better packaging is what the team at Azafran updated me.
Use this with a loofah or a bath glove so that body wash for better results. Since this body wash is free from surfactants or SLS, it won’t lather much. So if you loooove the foams and soap suds, stay away from this.
I have the Lemon Verbena variant which smells a bit like lemongrass. The fragrance is a bit on the stronger side. Luckily, the fragrance lessens posts the application which is quite a life saver, else I would have ended up smelling like a bottle of lemongrass EO. It leaves behind a very mild fragrance which lasts for quite a while. This body wash is available in the strawberry and lavender fragrance too.
When I bought this about 2 months ago, it was INR 200, the price now shows as INR 240. This was a technical error on the Natural Mantra website that has been rectifiesd. The cost of the body wash is INR 200 only. This was also confirmed by the team at Azafran.
This 200 ml of body wash has a shelf life of 18 months. You can buy this on Natural Mantra, ShopClues and LadyBlush. It shows up in the listing of products in Flipkart, but the images and links to the products don’t appear.
Won’t be re-buying this variant for sure, but will love to try the lavender and strawberry one instead! But if you are a fan of lemony fragrances, don’t give this one a miss.

I find Azafran body washes really unique plus genuine. Although they foam less , they cleanse very well. My favourite is strawberry. Got to try cranberry from their limited edition , and although its more or less like strawberry , I found it really refreshing. Have placed my order for lavender and orange from Azafran , will update you with my feedback 🙂
Prats says
I loved it too but the fragrance was a bit strong for me to handle. I have no idea about the limited edition wash. Will pick it up if available. Let me know which fragrance was milder from the lot you picked up. Will try that next.
Anjali Pant says
Hey ! Tried Orange one , well its definitely not like those tangy oranges , and smell more like orange peel. Fragrance is strong ( just like orange peel ) , so you may give it a skip. Lavender , Iam yet to try. Will update in a day or two.
I guess , you must try cranberry one , its a “lil” strong , but not overpowering. Its really refreshing. Same is for strawberry one. Cranberry , Rasberry and Pomegranate , fall under the “limited edition” of Azafran, priced at Rs. 175 each. They are available at Ecotokri ( neither at NM nor at GnG ).
Prats says
If the fragrances are strong, I think I will give it a skip 🙁

Azafran body washes are free of SLS, SLES, Parabens, Synthetic Colours and Artificial Fragrances?? Wow! I must say it’s a great find then.
Oh yeah, they have these Hair Halos; in Rosemary and Lavender. Could you find out about their ingredients, please?
Prats says
Yes, the blog mentions the ingredients in detail too. I found the fragrance a bit too strong for my liking and would be waiting to try some of the other body washes. I have not seen the hair halos as yet. Are they hair oils? Sure will look up the ingredient list soon, find out and update.
Ray S says
Thank you! I would like hearing your thoughts on the limited editions if you happen to try them out in the future.
And yes, they are hair oils. pure organic Rosemary oil and Lavender oil infused in organic cold pressed coconut oil respectively, the say.
Ray S says
one more thing I am quiet liking about them is that they are really budget friendly 🙂
Prats says
Yes. Not very high on the price at all!
Anjali Pant says
I have a personal preference for azafran body washes , since they are really genuine stuff. Acc to eco tokri team , these are USDA certified , however not mentioned on the packs. I would highly recommend their limited edition , because other than that , there are strawberry , verbena , orange & lavender , out of which I have found only strawberry one satisfactory ( havnt tried verbena one ) . But yes again , choices differ ! :p
Prats says
I should try the other variants!
Ray S says
strawberry will surely be the first on my platter! 😀
Anjali Pant says
For sure ! 🙂
NM is selling this one plus all other variants , since it has included freight charges as well. At greenngood n ecotokri , they are at normal prices , plus out of these three sites , only ecotokri has the limited edition. Btw prats have you tried anything from tatha ( tathastu) ? The brand profile is quite promising , however , I dunno much about it ! 🙁
Anjali Pant says
*NM is selling at a higher price
Prats says
Never compared the price. 🙁
Prats says
I have some toner or face cleaner from tatha. It came in one of the sampling bags. Have not tried it as yet.
Ray S says
They have so many berries…. 😀

I used the Strawberry variant.. smelled good when in the bottle, but when I lathered it up.. seriously not nice! :/
Pratibha says
Uff and I was planning to buy it!
Ray says
this lemon variant is not like that, right Prats?
Pratibha says
It is a very lemony lemony thing. If you like citrus, you will like this
Ray says
no, no.. I meant.. does the fragrance of this one change too? I bought the strawberry from naturalmantra so don’t think that I got a dupe, but Anjali said this was her fav from them and she had used most of them too.. 🙁 was really excited to smell like a strawberry candy..
Pratibha says
It is a very lemony thing, since this is natural, the fragrance will not last long.
Ray says
I guess then you should try the strawberry variant atleast once.
Pratibha says
I am running out of stock for the body washes, will surely give it a try!
Atrayee Sarkar says

Pratibha says
I am yet to use it!
