Those of you who know me personally and virtually are pretty much aware of my love for products that are sustainable and made with natural ingredients. I have written about Krya earlier in my blog, so it needs no introduction. Krya was restricted to the home care category with just two products that were very well appreciated, the natural laundry detergent powder which I have already reviewed and the dish washing powder that is pending a review! I was hoping that they would start products in skin care soon so that I could have more options to choose from. Sometime early this year, they announced the launch of skin care products on their FB page, I was excited and I pre-booked the Krya Gentle Daily Face Wash Powder. The batch they made was small and they were looking at people who could sample it and give them a feedback. But of course, would I even miss a chance like that?
Krya Gentle Daily Face Wash Powder
As the name suggests, this daily face wash powder is not just gentle but also soothing on the skin. I use this as a face mask as well as a face wash. You can apply this as a mask and leave it on till it is semi dry and wet your face with a bit of water and massage gently to let the pack also act as a scrub. To use as a face wash, take the desired quantity of the powder and mix with water and gently massage on your face and wash off with cool water. The first time I used it, my face felt a bit oily after an hour of the wash. I assumed it was because I used hot water to wash my face, but when I used cold water, the results were better, but my skin was slightly stretched. I also thought this could be because of the season. I had to use a moisturiser to get rid of the dryness.
My experience with Krya Gentle Daily Face Wash Powder has been nice. I don’t use it everyday, but I use it at least twice to thrice a week when I want to add that freshly scrubbed look to my face. It leaves your skin looking radiant and fresh. I prefer using this as a face-mask because by the time it dries on the skin, I have indulged in some awesome skin food.
The face wash powder is almost like an ubtan, it won’t foam and the natural ingredients in this will cleanse your face of the impurities you have accumulated all through the day. It doesn’t have an overpowering fragrance either. The predominant fragrance that I could smell in the face wash powder was the mung dal and fennel seeds. The fragrance does not stay on post a wash. If you are looking for natural ways of keeping your skin clean, buy this product. If you looked at the ingredient list below, you will realize the goodness of this face-wash. If you want to try this product, you will have to wait till they make the next batch. And if you can, do pre-book one piece for yourself as soon as the second batch is ready!
The product is suitable for men and women. I have a combination skin the product suited my skin type. The mail I got from Krya states that the product is suitable for all skin types. They haven’t yet tried out how it could suit those prone to severe adult acne. So if you fall in that skin type category, I suggest that you wait.
Availability and Price
The availability is an issue and you will need to follow their FB page and wait for announcements about the availability of the product. The 100 gram pack costs INR 240 and is supposed to last approximately 33 – 34 washes. That is less than INR 8 for an awesome skin!
You can also mail them to enquire about the product and its availability. The expected shelf life of this product is about 3-4 months if stored correctly in an air tight container.

This looks really good and it’s purely natural with no icky additional chemicals to preserve the product like lots of other partially natural products .
