This is just the start of a journey that I hope to accomplish. If you are wondering how to live a zen life, let me tell you it is no rocket science. It is a mix of mindfulness and habits that you choose to follow in life that give you peace and harmony.
How to live a zen life
Be happy: Things changed the day I decided to be responsible for my happiness. I did not have to depend on external validation. When you let go of expectations, you’ll realize that life is simple and not complicated. Being happy gives a sense of contentment that ushers in positive thoughts. Try it.
Practice gratitude: Practicing gratitude takes less than two minutes every single day. All you need to do is list three things that made you happy in the day. It allows you to focus on the good than dwell on what went wrong. Of course, you do need to figure out ways to rectify the wrong, but focusing on the good gives a positive vibe. Do this before you sleep so that you can focus on the good.
Enjoy the little things: Often, we are so absorbed in the big picture that we tend to lose focus on the little things. And it is those little things that can bring you joy. It could be as simple as stepping out on the balcony to watch a sunset or sunrise or just reading a book.
Make time for yourself: Undoubtedly one of my favorite things to do. A stop at my favorite café gives me time to fill my life and business goals for the month, and it makes a world of difference. It helps me focus and rejuvenate. When I spend time alone, I can collect and concentrate on my thoughts that I turn into action.
Develop rituals: Developing a ritual is akin to developing a habit. They say that if it’s important enough to have a ritual, it’s important enough to be given your full attention and done slowly and correctly. Work your pace through it. You don’t need to rush it up and get it right the first time. None of us are perfect.
Wrapping it up
There is no right or wrong way to the guide to Zen living. It is all about what we choose and aspire to be. What is it that you do that defines the zen moment for you? Share it with me in the comments. Just like me, there would be many others who want to practice the art of Zen living. You never know who you will inspire.

I was always iffy about rituals but I have recently found the joy of having and practicing them 🙂
