Cleansing is an important routine that one needs to follow to keep your skin healthy and glowing. I am yet to find a cleanser that suits my skin, so what I typically do is create my own cleansers depending on what is available in my kitchen. Here are some absolutely easy to make cleansers that may suit your skin.
Making home made facial cleansers
Lemon and Sugar cleanser (oily skin)
Mix 1 teaspoon of lemon juice with 1 teaspoon of sugar. Massage this mix over the oily areas on your face in slow circular motions. Use this at least thrice a week to keep your skin free from blackheads and impurities.
Lemon juice: Contains skin clearing Vitamin C and is also known to be a natural anti bacterial agent.
Sugar: Contains glycolic acid that aids in removing blackheads. Scrubbing with sugar also adds a glow to your face,
Milk, Tomato, Orange & Lemon ( oily skin)
Mix in a blender one ripe tomato, 1 tsp each of orange juice and lemon juice and 2 tbsps of milk. Blend till it is a smooth paste. Store this in a glass jar. Keep this refrigerated. You can store this for about a week.
To use: Apply on face and leave it on for about 10 minutes, Wash with warm water and pat dry the skin.
Grapes, Milk & Olive oil (Dry Skin)
Blend in a mixer a handful of grapes, 1 tsp of milk and 2 tbsps of virgin olive oil till it is a smooth paste. Apply on face and massage for a couple of minutes. Leave it om for about 5 minutes. Wash with warm water or a towel dabbed in hot water. The olive oil willmoisturise your skin too.
Papaya, Aloe Vera, Honey & Yogurt
Most of us today have a jar of aloe vera gel tucked in our dressing cabinet. In this cleanser, the aloevera helps heal the skin.
Blend in a mixer 2 tbsps of aloe vera gel ( I use the fresh juice of Aloe vera because I have the plant at home), 1/4th cup of chopped papaya, 1/2 tbsp of honey ( organic would be better!) and 1 tbsp of yogurt till it is a smooth paste. You can use this as a body cleanser too.
Honey Almond Scrub
Grind a handful of almonds in a mixer to make a slightly smooth powder. Add to this, 2 tbsp milk and 1/2 tsp of honey. This should be a thick paste. Add some milk if you want it slightly runny. Rub on your skin using circular motions. Let it stay on for a few minutes and wash off with warm water. Pat dry.
Basic Cleanser ( for all skin types)
Mix equal amount of honey and milk and apply on your face. Let it stay for a few minutes and wash off with warm water. Pat dry.

Rita,
I’m really not a beauty expert, I share DIY recipes that suits my skin and that do not cause a break out. I have a combination skin.
