Over the past few years, I have begun to believe that healing begins at home. Whether it is the common cold, cough or the flu, there are common ingredients in the kitchen that we can use to keep the illness at bay. Antibiotics is probably the last resort for the boys and me too. I have over the past few years have had the opportunity to research and note down tried and tested remedies that work wonders.
As the seasons change, it is common for us to fall ill because our body is getting used to the change. But if we followed a healthy regime and stuck to home remedies, healing would be faster. Did you know that one of the best remedies to tackle insomnia is to add a pinch of nutmeg powder to a cup of warm milk and drink it at least 30 minutes before you sleep? Isn’t that a wonderful option in comparison to popping an anti-stress pill?
Healing ingredients in my kitchen
There are lots of healing spices in our kitchen that can be used to combat minor illnesses and health issues. Like the juices of the cloves not just mask the bad breath, but can also help you get rid of the nagging cough. In our fast paced lives, we’ve kept natural remedies in the back burner and opted for off the shelf medicines that starts to get ineffective with prolonged usage. Traditional home remedies are always better because you know the healing properties that the ingredients give to your body.
