Now that Diwali is over, your body needs a break from not just from the eating binge, but also from the pollution that you may have been exposed to. Seriously, Diwali got with it loads of binge eating. Yes, it was fun, but I can’t shake away the feeling of lethargy, feeling bloated and of course being guilty! I ate enough sweets to last my lifetime, yes I say that every Diwali and still end up on a food binge. I am sure that there are more of sailing in the same boat!

These simple ways will tell you how to feel better after the week of indulgence! All that you need to do is follow this four step method for a couple of weeks shows you some easy ways to detox post the festive season.

Exercise
The most important thing that you need to do is sweat! Get those calories burning – go for a brisk walk, a jog or just hit the treadmill for at least 30 minutes in a day. Do some yoga for a few minutes or some push-ups and squats. Exercising will make you sweat and also help to release the toxins from your body. And yes, it make you feel a lot better as well!

Some detox drinks
Nothing works better than flushing out the toxins from your body! With the winter setting in you will need some warmer drinks and you can check some amazing detox drinks that I have listed here. Start your day with a glass of warm water with honey and lemons. The warm water helps to stimulate the GI tract and the lemons help to purify the liver. It also helps digestive acids with digestion and elimination. Most importantly it is an awesome drink to flush out toxins. If you are not a fan of this, try some green tea. It has many benefits and is filled with antioxidants that help increase your metabolism.

Eat lots of fruits
Eating fruits is a healthy option. Switch to a complete fruit diet for one meal at least thrice a week. If you opt for citrus fruits, they will instantly make you feel refreshed and because it is rich in antioxidants it keeps you healthy. All citrus fruits are rich in Vitamin C that also helps to keep the common cold and flu at bay. Include a lot of fresh fruit juices and smoothies in your diet as well to increase the water intake. You also need to drink at least 2 liters of water everyday.

Stick to a routine
When you start a program to detox, it is important that you stick to a routine. Removing toxins is indeed the first step to a healthier life, but striving to keep the toxins out is a continuous process that you need to realistically stick to. It is important for you to find a safe method that you can adopt and safely stick to and also get the desired results.
There are many detox programs available on the net, but choose one in consultation with your doctor. Most programs need to followed for a minimum of 7 days to purify the blood and eliminate the toxins from it.
