No matter how strong our resolve is, we face moments of frustration, and it makes us want to give up. Be it the workplace, a relationship, or something we are pursuing. We feel we’ve given it our best, and yet there are no results that can be positive enough.
But don’t give up, and choose to attain those goals. There are many ways to do this and let us discuss how.
Don’t give up – here is why!
How you approach life says a lot about who you are. And even in the bleakest times, when you want to give up and make things easier, remember that there are always ways to overcome this. How? Here is how!
- Find support: There will never be anything wrong if you choose to seek help. To avoid burnout it is the best thing that one can do. Seek the support of friends, family, or a mentor. You can choose to join a support group or even seek professional help if necessary.
- Set realistic goals: When you choose to break down your larger goals into smaller, more achievable milestones, accomplishing a task becomes easier. And it does not overwhelm you. Celebrate each milestone as you achieve it, no matter how small. It is a reminder that you chose not to give up.
- Motivate yourself: Whenever you begin to go down the rabbit hole of self-doubt, look for the positives. Let me share what I do. I have a secret folder on my laptop that has screenshots of the praise I have received from my clients. On days when I self-doubt, I look at the screenshots and realize what I am capable of.
- Develop a positive mindset: Stay focused on your strengths and positive qualities. When you encounter obstacles or setbacks, reframe them as opportunities for growth and learning.
- Take care of your well-being: Most times, we are so engrossed in meeting our goals that we don’t even realize if we have over-exerted ourselves. Take time out for your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Get enough sleep, eat well, exercise regularly, and engage in activities that bring you joy.
Wrapping it up
You never really lose until you stop trying. The words “I can’t ever accomplish anything.” or “I can’t go on, I give up” can seemingly be inconsequential when you change the narrative to” I’ll try, and give it my best.”
Remember, it’s okay to ask for help or take a break when you need it. Challenges are a natural part of life, but facing them with perseverance and a positive mindset makes it easier not to give up and achieve your goals.
What’s your go-to mantra when you know you’re on the brink and can’t go on anymore? What makes that voice in your head go, “Don’t give up!”. Leave a comment, and I’d love to read what tides you through.

I don’t do it often because sometimes I like my pity party but when I do, I like to look at how far I’ve come and remember a similar obstacle I overcame. But that motivating tip about keeping a praise folder is so awesome. Will compile one too!

What tides me through are 2 statements – the only way is through and lyrics from the Poets of the Fall song ‘Love will come to you’ specifically: And your tears have been worthwhile
They got you through
To a different place and time where all is new
To the start of something fine
Like morning dew
