It is never too late to indulge in quick beauty treatments to try this weekend at home. Self-care treatments is the call of the hour and now is a good time to consider trying out new beauty treatments. The best part about beauty treatments at home is that they are unlikely to burn a hole in the pocket. Plus, you know what you are using on your skin and hair, so life is sorted! So here are some simple beauty treatments to try this weekend at home.
Beauty Treatments to Try This Weekend at Home
A hair spa, a pedicure, a mini-facial, a body scrub to exfoliate dead skin and some DIY face masks is what you can indulge in over the weekend. Of course, we believe the more the merrier. But we want you to start somewhere so here are six fresh and quick beauty treatments to try this weekend at home. Slay the weekend is what we have to say.
Do a foot spa at home
Soak, Scrub, Moisturise. This pretty much sums up how to tackle the foot spa at home. Start with soaking your feet in as hot water as you can take. Add some Himalayan Rock Salt and a few drops of essential oils. I use the following essential oils:
Lavender Essential Oil – Helps to calm the tired feet.
Peppermint Essential Oil – Removes odour and refreshes the feet.
Rosemary Essential Oil – It is anti-fungal and helps to cleanse your feet.
Soak your feet in the water for about 10 minutes and wipe dry. Use a chemical-free foot scrub to exfoliate the dead skin. Massage each foot for at least 5 minutes. Wipe off excess scrub under running water. Now comes the moisturizing massage. You can either use a foot oil or a foot cream. If you are opting for a foot oil; choose a pre-mixed foot oil that is made according to Ayurveda or you can use pure coconut, almond or sesame oils. I would recommend you to look up the pure oils from Juicy Chemistry, Mamaearth and Omved. Each of these brands have pure coconut, sesame and olive oils that are brilliant for a massage. You can also look at the oils from Daughter Earth that works up some really brilliant magic as you massage your feet.
Last but not the least, wear some old socks so that you can lock in the moisturizer and the beneficial properties of the oils.
If you are buying from Juicy Chemistry, do use the coupon code Pratibha to get a flat discount.

Give your hands some TLC
With all the washing and sanitizing, our hands could use a little TLC. With the lockdown, I’ve washed enough vessels to tackle a life-time and not to mention the endless rounds of sanitizing! Take pure aloe vera gel and mix a bit of rose water in it. I add a few drops of Lavender essential oil to this. Apply on the hands and let it stay for 10 minutes. Now massage your hands to let the aloevera soak in along with the essential oils. You’ll have softer and hydrated hands.
Reveal glowing skin with a DIY face-mask
Take a mild scrub and wash your face. I prefer the ones from Juicy Chemistry because they are 100% chemical-free and it meets my criteria of using a scrub once a week! A refreshing and hydrating face mask. All that you need to do is mash a banana and add a drizzle of honey to it. Add a drop of lavender essential oil if your skin is very sensitive along with two drops Marula carrier oil by Juicy Chemistry.
Apply on the face and neck and let it stay for 5 minutes before you wash off with warm water. Youβll notice visibly moisturized skin. Honey and banana face mask will make your skin soft and radiant. A great solution if you have less time for makeovers and parties. Don’t forget to follow up with a hydrating serum. Give the Serum Absolut by Daughter Earth a try. It has the right amount of hydration that doesn’t leave your skin dry after a few hours or leave behind an oily patch.
Pamper your tresses
There is nothing more relaxing that pampering your tresses. If you have the time do indulge in this deep conditioning oil mask that is elixir for stressed hair. Mix together 2 tbsp coconut oil, 1 tbsp olive oil, and 3 drops of an essential oil. You may heat the coconut oil till it is just warm. Massage the mixture all over your scalp and hair and keep it covered under a shower cap for 30 minutes. Wash it off with a mild shampoo and follow it up with a conditioner.
If you are lazy (as I am sometimes) opt for the hair masks from Mamaearth and Juicy Chemistry. For the former, I am in love with the Argan Hair Mask by Mamaearth. Suitable for all hair types, it leaves your hair looking soft and shiny. I like the Sacha Inchi and Mango Butter Hair Mask from Juicy Chemistry. You need a dash of the serum on the hair and then use one of their shampoo bars to cleanse your hair. The Apply from the roots to the tips and let it stay for 30 minutes. Wash off with a mild shampoo and conditioner.

Love your nails
Lemon and olive oil are widely used in hand care. While lemon juice helps to remove the tan, the olive oil gently moisturizes the skin. A mixture of lemon juice and olive oil can penetrate the nail cuticles in order to repair and strengthen the nails. Since lemon juice acts as a bleach, it can help to remove the yellowish stains and discoloration from the nails. Apply this mix on your fingers with a cotton ball and let it stay for 15 minutes before you wash it off with warm water. To make this mix use 1 table spoon of olive oil and the juice of one lemon. Whisk it well with a fork.
Catch up on meditation
With the pandemic on the rise, the stress levels are on the rise too. Working from home combined with tackling household chores can be a killer. Sometimes I am so exhausted that I can’t sleep. I’ve consciously begun to take time out for listening to relaxation music that promises a sense of calm. Do look up Honest Guys on YouTube and the Chopra Meditation App in the Play Store for Android Phones.
These are some beauty treatments to try this weekend at home. Most of them are are quick DIY remedies; something that I am completely in love with. Plus I use an array of chemical-free products so I know that my skin and hair is getting the best. So which of these beauty treatments to try this weekend at home will you try?
