Whenever I am at Phoenix Mall, I make it a point to visit the Forest Essentials store. I love the fragrance from the store and I find it very calming and relaxing to be there. I found new products in the store and I was super thrilled. The first one that caught my eye was the Baby Hair and Body Wash and there is an entire range for new mums ranging from stretch mark oil, back massage oils and fragrant mists.
Baby Hair and Body Wash by Forest Essentials
This is a mild cleanser that works as a hair wash as well as a body wash.I prefer using it as a shampoo though. I love its fragrance, it is sweet without being too overpowering and it does not leave a lasting fragrance which is a plus point. The first whiff that you get is of flowers and I get this hint of citrusy fragrance too,
It seems a complete natural and organic package that you can try for your kids. However, one thing that bothered me was that it lathered too well. Yes, I know there seem to be no nasties listed in the ingredients, but I use reetha based shampoos and I know that it does not lather so much. A conversation with them confirmed that this was the complete ingredient list.
I am happy to have more options that I can choose from for the boys and the boys are happy that they get to pick the product they want to use in the mornings when they are having a bath! It’s a win-win situation for us.
I have been using this for a week now, not a very long time I know, but I am ready to recommend this. If you are a mom who likes to use all things natural and organic for your little one, opt for this. My estimate is that this should last at least two months with the boys, just double the duration if you don’t have twins ;). Like most natural products, you need very less amount of the shampoo to use. I use about half a tsp for each of them. You don’t need more.
Price and Shelf-life
Priced at INR 425 for a 100 ml bottle, this has a shelf life of 24 months. Expensive yes, and that is why I prefer to use it as a hair wash so that it is economical for me.
The Ingredients List
Peepal leaves, Indian Gooseberry, Cardamom, Coriander, Reetha, Black pepper, Hisbiscus Flower extract, Rose extract, Marigold Flower extract, Jasmine flower extract, Saffron extract, Parijat extract, Almond oil, Cucumber extract and Honey.
Unfortunately I can’t see it listed anywhere on the online store and there seems no mention of it anywhere, which is slightly strange. I picked this up from the FE store in Phoenix Mall, Viman Nagar. If you have a FE store close to where you stay, you may want to check this product.

Hi Prathibha,
Nice review. The product must be nice and gentle. But no wash/shampoo can be all natural. They can be naturally derived. The surfactants used can be gentle and naturally derived.
There are very gentle, safe and natural surfactants that foam well, available these days. So if it leathers too well u can t say it might be bad. Ur skin feel should prove that.
Also it is not a complete ingredient list, sure there are other unlisted ingredients but believe that they are going to be not that bad.
