Omved Neck Compress {Review}

September 1, 2015 By: Pratibha1 Comment

Omved Neck Compress

The past few days have been crazy. I woke with a tingling sensation passing through the nape of the neck to top of the head. A wave of nausea and giddiness was constantly there and when 4 days later the symptoms did not subside, I knew I had to visit a doctor. The X-ray revealed what I was dreading. Cervical Spondylisis. The continuous working at the laptop had taken its toll and I was advised complete rest for 6 weeks if I wanted to recover faster. There is no reversing this condition, but a few lifestyle changes can ensure that the spondylisis does not aggravate.

Omved Neck Compress

Its been 2 weeks now and with exercises and a few awesome products, I have been able to keep the pain at bay.  I started using three things at the same time for the pain, a neck compress, a buckwheat hull pillow and  a massage oil that that I will review later on. Let me start with reviewing the neck compress. I have the Omved foot compress and the Omved back compress that I have using regularly. And trust me they are very effective.

Omved Neck Compress

How does the Omved Neck Compress work?

The compress works as a hot as well as a cold compress. To use it as a hot compress, remove the organic cover, heat the compress in a microwave for 90 – 120 seconds with a glass of water. Using a glass of water is important so that the organic herbs in the compress are not burnt. Slip it back in the cover and place on the neck. It has a shape of a boomerang and it provides a continuous warm treatment to the sore muscles. When heated for 120 seconds/2 minutes, the heat from the compress lasts for at least 45 minutes. The compress is evenly weighted and it places the right amount of pressure on the neck to provide adequate relief.  The best part about this compress is that it stays in place because of its unique shape. It rests comfortably on the nape of the neck and the lingering heat provides a lot of relief.

I was using a heating pad before using the compress and  the heating pad would actually burn the skin despite having a protective layer. If I was using it and leaning against a pillow, I had to change the position several times to ensure that my neck and back wasn’t getting too much heat. Ditto with a hot water bottle. You never know when you may have a leaking hot water bottle that can scald the sensitive skin. With the compress the heat is constant and not burning.

Omved has a lot of compresses that can be used and you can view most of the Omved compress range here.

Caring for the Omved Neck Compress

Like all organic products, when used the right way, this compress can last for a long time. Ensure that you take out the cover when you are heating the compress in the microwave. Always keep a glass of water in the microwave when heating it so that direct heating wont cause the herbs in the compress to burn. I apply a bit of the massage oil and let it stay for a few minutes and keep a thin towel and keep the compress on it. The towel is kept ensure that the compress does not stain. Always keep the compress back in the pouch provided so that it does not gather any dust.

Buying it

Look up this product here. Priced at INR 990, this compress acts as a cold as well as a hot compress. Use this compress for muscular aches and pains, to reduce headaches and aid in complete relaxation. I would completely recommend this product.

One really good thing about not just this compress, but all of Omved’s compress is that it cannot have any leakages. Plus the additional fact that most of the compress can last upto 10 years with good care is another reason enough to invest in it. The neck compress has not just helped in reducing the neck pain but also worked on reducing the intensity of my headaches.
