5 fat burning activities for you!

July 7, 2015 By: Pratibha1 Comment

I have always battled the bulge. A lack of physical exercises made it difficult to shed the weight despite the fact that I was not a voracious eater. I started combining various activities to give a variety and made it a part of my lifestyle. Why I like to include a variety is so that I don’t follow a routine because a routine tends to get really boring! I set aside a minimum of 5 days to indulge in fat burning activities that keeps me healthy.

5  fat burning activities that you must try

These simple but easy fat burning activities not just keeps you healthy, but also makes you feel good about yourself. It’s alright if you do not have the time to hit a gym regularly, adding these physical activities to your lifestyle will make a difference.

1. Walk, walk, walk and walk

I love these walking exercises that is combined with cardio. Leslie Sansone has a very good collection of walk videos and the 3 mile walk is one of my favourite videos that I indulge in at least once a week! But of course, you can also head  to the gym and walk on the treadmill or just head out for a walk to a park. One of the best ways that I ensure I get my exercise is to walk to close by areas. Whether it a super market or the stationery store, I walk to the place to get the regular fix of exercise. Don’t forget that a walk in the outdoors will also get you your regular fix of Vitamin D as well!

2. Cycle

I don’t own a cycle, so the best thing that I can do is head to the gym and cycle for at least 15 minutes to give myself a complete exercise. Cycling not just helps to get rid of the belly fat but it also helps to tone the lower body. Cycling helps to increase your metabolism rate. Cycles are also an environmental friendly option to get to your destination without wasting fuel!

3. Activities with the kids

My boys are a bundle of energy. I think I am more tired when they get back from school after a good 8 hours! Somethings that I love doing with the boys is dancing with them or running with them when they are cycling! A race from the bus stop to home is a fantastic activity to indulge in as well! Try this, not only will your kids be delighted, and I bet your body will thank you too for the exercise of the day!

4. Power Yoga

When the asanas like Suryanamaskar and others are performed at a moderate speed on a daily basis, you can lose weight gradually and regularly. Some of the asanas that can help you lose weight are Tree Pose (Vrksasana), Forward Bending Pose (Uttanasana), Mountain Pose (Tadasana) and the Boat Pose (Nauka Chalan). It is always advisable that you first learn yoga under an instructor before you start practicing it on your own.

Yoga makes subtle changes to your life. Apart from helping you lose weight, it can help you better the metabolism, reduce anxiety and stress levels, and also help you improve your concentration levels.

5. Doing household work

Indulging in household chores is another great way to burn calories. Try these simple tips like keeping away folded and ironed laundry in the respective cupboards. I make multiple trips from the ironing room to the other rooms I need to keep the clothes. Spending time to clean and dust the house is another good way of getting the required exercise. Another benefit is that you get to keep your home neat and clutter free all the time!

These are simple doable activities that can help you lose weight and get fit and fabulous! There are various techniques and methods that you can try that can range from swimming, indulging in outdoor sports or joining crossfit that can help you stay healthy. What is your favourite way to stay healthy?
