Sometime in January, Shreya from Burst Of Happyness sent across one of her latest launches for me to try. If you have been following her, you will know that she has launched a range of natural facial serums which you can check out at her website. Shreya does not need an introduction on my blog. I have used quite a few of her products and I just realize that I have not reviewed most of them!
Coming back to the natural facial serums, it has always been a myth that oils or serums can make your face look greasy and cause a breakout. I was a firm believer of this myth until I actually started using this awesome serum blend. A gentle face massage can work a long way to keep your skin moisturized, supple and hydrated. Oils tend to penetrate deep into the skin and when it is applied as a thin layer on the skin, it can also help to re-balance natural oil production.
Natural Facial Serums
Natural Facial Serums are a great alternative to chemical laden moisturizers and face creams that are available in the market. These work similarly as a moisturizer, but you need a very little quantity of the product to let it show the desired results. All you need to do is take a few drops and massage it onto your face and neck till it is absorbed. It takes less than 2 minutes to get this regime in place and what you are rewarded with is beautiful and radiant skin.
I am currently using the Eternal variant from Burst of Happyness. This one is more suitable for dry and damaged skin. I chose this variant because my skin does get really dry in the winters causing it to burn even when I do something as simple as wash my face. I used this product in the mornings and I use a night cream which I will review later. The best time to use this face oil is as soon as you have stepped out of the shower. It was amazing how well my skin responded to the serum.
Ingredients in this product
Eternal is a blend of natural plant oils and essential oils. Just a quick view of the ingredients and what it can do for your skin:
- Apricot Kernel Oil : Softens and regenerates skin
- Jojoba Oil: Moisturizes and protects
- Argan Oil: Restores skin elasticity and helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles
- Rosehip Oil: Evens skin tones and reduces sun damage
- Pumpkin Seed Oil: is a powerhouse of nutrients which help keep the skin bright and looking young
It has the essential oils of Frankincense and Palmarosa that helps to add the healthy glow to your skin as well. These oils help to clear up your skin and keep acne and breakouts at bay.
Price and Shelf life
This 10 ml facial serum is priced at INR 599 and has a shelf life of 12 months. I have been using this for almost a month now and the good part is that I did not face any breakouts. I need about 2-3 drops of the facial serum to massage on the face and neck. It leaves my skin perfectly moisturized for at least 6 hours at a stretch.
I’ve mentioned it earlier and I will say it again, face oils are a better option than off the shelf moisturizers that you pick up from the market. Give this a try and I am sure that you won’t regret it. When used regularly this bottle should last at least 4-5 months and that is not a bad deal for good skin care! You can buy this variant here.
