The February 2013 Vellvette Box

February 22, 2013 By: Pratibha10 Comments

I was catching up on reviews on the Feb box and everyone was all very happy with what they received. I received my box too. Tied in a beautiful red ribbon with hearts all around it, was certainly an awesome way to relive Valentine Day, even if it was a week late :). That’s my box with the cute heart magnet.

Velvette

Back to the box, I am left wondering why on earth do I fill out my preferences when I get something I have never asked for!

The February Vellvette box contains 3 products, two of which are full sized and one sample size. What I got was :

1. Figs & Rouge Aloe and Mint Balm (full sized)

2. Pure Pro Blush : Lovely (full sized)

3. Ofra Fruit Acid Lotion (sample size)

Thanks Vellvette, but the last month I had filled up the questionnaire all over again because I was sent a nail polish  when I clearly stated that I was not keen to receive makeup products. And what I get is a blush. I hope you are reading this Vellvette crew. This is a full sized sample costing around INR 1650. And I really doubt it if I will ever use it!

The Ofra Fruit Acid is supposed to be naturally formulated using plant, vegetable and marine extracts. I have never heard of this brand but will probably give this a try. It is suitable for normal to oily skin, which falls in my skin type range. The consistency is pretty unlike a lotion and the usage instructions says that you need to leave it on for two minutes and rinse your face. As far as I know, lotions are not rinsed off. So am I missing something here? Not quite sure.

One products that I am certain to use from this box is the Figs & Rouge Aloe and Mint Balm. I love lip balms and at the moment I am using the lip balms from Omved, which are quite my favourite. Let me see how this one fares. The review for this will be up soon. This lip balm and the blush are two products that I guess will be in all the boxes this month, just like the Nyassa Chocolate Body scrub was a part of the Jan box.

So what have you got in your Vellvette box this time? And if you want to subscribe to the Vellvette box, click here.

Everyone seems to have got the balm and the blush. The Aloe and Mint lip balm is a common product till now across most of the boxes. And so is the blush in varying shades. I am absolutely confused about the lotion! I’ve never rinsed off a lotion and this one specifically asks you to! *shrugs*

I’ve been very unhappy with the vellvette boxes. Especially since after the first box I got nothing that I used. Threw everything away 🙁

I have loved the TBS hair oil that they sent till now. so it makes one product out of the 10 prods I received so far. I was a bit miffed with the blush because I clearly said I don’t use make up and they go ahead and send me blush!
    BAH!

[…] So this was one of the full sized products that everyone who subscribed to the Vellvette box got in the Feb box. Yes, I know half the bloggers went over the moon with this, but it was not much of a happening product for me. I totally love the packaging of the balm. It comes in a cute tin box that is absolutely reusable material.  What I am referring to is the Figs & Rouge Aloe Mint Lip Balm. The sneak preview did give away the product and I was actually looking forward to having it as a part of my Feb Vellvette box. […]
