That lone zit appears at the most unwanted times. And if you suffer from regular breakouts, you know how painful that can be. From the layers of make-up to hide them to cancelling the first dates, the acne has played a role in everyone’s life. But the good part is that there are some good home remedies and tips to clear up acne.
So what causes acne?
Lots of things, from overproduction of oil, clogged pores, your periods, genetics and more. It’s a myth that everyone thinks it’s during the periods that the acne acts up, causing the breakouts and making your skin look dull and sallow. The truth is there is more to acne than just periods!
4 Tips to Clear up Acne
Nobody likes acne, but we are not all lucky enough to have perfect skin. We also all cannot afford the expensive facials we read about in magazines. This is why I put together 6 tips to clear up acne from home!
Avoid squeezing or popping your pimples
And yes, stop touching your face!. The more you touch or squeeze the fluid out of your acne, the more sebum your skin will produce. It will take more time for your pimples and blackheads to clear up because of the inflammation and irritation that can possibly occur.
Wash your face thoroughly
If you have acne prone skin, use a mild cleanser and wash your face at least thrice a day, massaging the cleanser for a minute to cleanse the locked up dirt and impurities. Proper facial hygiene is the best way to be proactive. Use facial soaps that do not contain oil or soaps that are not acidic. Wash your face after a sweat session. It’s no secret that sweat clogs pores, so keep wipes or a spray with you when you know you are going to be sweating.

Moisturize your face
Don’t forget to moisturize your skin after you have cleansed it. Since your skin is prone to acne and break outs, you should consider using a light moisturizer that gives your skin the nourishment without making it feel oily or greasy. Washing can strip your skin of natural lipids, so put a moisturizer that suits your skin type (sensitive, normal, dry, oily, or combination) so that your body will not produce extra oil that may cause your skin to be more susceptible to breakouts.
Choose the right product
Do your research! Don’t buy the first product you see on the shelf. Read the list of ingredients on the label and then buy the product. Choose a product according to your skin type.
When all things fail, consult your trusted dermatologist that would give you advice and medicines on how to clear up acne.
Always keep in mind that even though these tips worked for some, it does not necessarily mean that it might work for you too. Whichever solution is best for you, keep it as a part of your daily routine. No matter what technique you choose on how to clear up acne, you need to remember that your acne problems will never be solved overnight.
