Last week, Facebook was abuzz with the 5 Day Happiness and Gratitude project that everyone was getting tagged into. I was tagged to participate in the the 5 day challenge by Vidya Sury, the awesome blogger behind Going A-Musing. It was a fun activity where we had to list out 3 things that we were grateful for or that made us happy for the day. We had to do this for five days. The activity also made me sit and think what was I grateful about this year and how the year has unfolded for me.
Just before we rang in 2014, I wrote a post on Gratitude 2013. While most of the list does get carried over to the current year, I am also happy about a lot of things that have been happening in my life in the recent past.
Living with gratitude
My word for the year was Faith. I have been working on it and I have seen changes happen in my life. For the good, of course. I began with faith in myself. So as half the year rolls by, let me share with you what I have been grateful about.
#1 – Indulging in Learning
Yes, I thought the days of exams and reading through material was long over, but I was mistaken. I realized I needed to upgrade my skills. I signed up for a few courses that are working towards upgrading my skills and mindset. I am happy and I am learning, that is what matters!
#2 – Birthday time
This is something that I am very happy about and grateful to the people who made it happen. My boys turned 5 and the birthday turned out to be EXACTLY like I would have wanted it to be! The cake, the menu, the decoration, the people, everyone who mattered were there.
#3 – Meeting life goals, well some at least!
I chose to have faith in my abilities when I wrote these down. And I am glad that I ticked off close to 40% of the goals I set for this year. Inching to a 2000 likes on Facebook, 800 + followers on twitter ( psst I had 109 followers at the start of the year!), writing the e-book on DIY recipes (finally!), overcoming the fright and sending out mailers, becoming a contributor with Elephant Journal after a good deal of rejects. Whew! Such a packed year so far, but I am still getting there!
# 4 – Loving my work
I am grateful that I can choose to work out of home and have the best of everything! Work I love, times I choose to work, choosw who I can work with and my work load, be my own boss, spend time with the kids and enjoy time to myself! Yes, I also get the coffee exactly as I would want it! Small things in life make a huge difference.
Sometimes when I in the phase of everything that is just falling apart or not going by as planned, I realize that it is so easy to complain and crib, but when you try living with gratitude, things magically change and beautiful things happen to you. Have you ever tried it? Leaving you with one of my favourite quotes!

The cuppa of coffee exactly one wants gives a boost to further the goals. Listing out the gratitude makes us aware of how much one ignores the little blessing of life.Lovely post….
